I know I have some questionable entertainment tastes, but he was by far the best part of New Years Eve, his part upstaging Robert DeBiro, Hilary Swank, and a plethora of others. I watch the film to just fast forward through the rest of the dreck to watch him dance during the credits.

He's on Live with Kelly and Michael this morning, and he's SUCH a nice guy... I'm really rooting for him. Hope he's getting his shit together. On the positive side, Neighbors is getting great reviews and looks funny. I'll definitely be seeing it in the theater.

Oh I really don't think he's getting his shit together at all, and the problem is if the movie does well both he & Hollywood will overlook the fact that he's on a downward slide. His last movie made lots of money let's sign him up! And Zac will convince himself that because he's getting hired and showing up to work everything is A-OK.
He had an interview with The Hollywood Reporter where he was repeating the "I got lost in downtown LA late at night and got attacked by a hobo with a shank" line and the interviewer actually commented about the story being off. Oh and we'ee supposed to believe he's tucked up safe in bed most nights by 9 PM. I guess he thinks of he parrots these bs stories and excuses long enough maybe even he will start to believe them?

I saw that interview. Bunch of BS. Can't believe he thinks he's fooling anyone with that story. It's just not plausible.

I remember he won a People's Choice Award a few years ago. He was almost over dressed for the event and gave this sincere Jennifer Love Hewitt level acceptance speech. (I think she cried when she won one, and they know ahead of time that they're winning. )
Now, MTV had their movie awards a few weeks after Zac's last run in. He won best shirtless scene (not sure when that category became a thing). After the presenter "spontaneously" ripped off the snap down shirt that he happened to be wearing he stood there for what felt like forever just blowing kisses and finger gunning the audience.
I think he's given up on serious actor and moved on to whatever makes him money. We'll see what his next project is.

This is not good. Please don't become the next Philip Seymour Hoffman, Zac. Lainey compared it to the RHCP song "Under the Bridge." Sounds about right, unfortunately. This is actually from several pages back, but I was reading back through the thread to remind myself what the whole deal was with the 'Skid Row' incident. Ironically right when I got to this post the RHCP song 'My Friends' came on the radio. That sadly fits too. Esp the lyrics that go 'They want to give her seven years/ for being sad' Zac may have been in a sad place and was trying to score something after having been sober for a while (Didn't he hit rehab not long before this all went down?) It's hard to say. But it was something he's still having to bring up esp. now that he's got a movie to promote again. Surely it was something fishy, but maybe after the scary bit with the 'spears or shanks' or what ever was being whipped out, the police getting involved and the subsequent bad press, maybe he's straightened up from whatever was going down in that time period in his life. Maybe it was a turning point for him and he's since gotten to a better place or recovered enough that there won't be anymore vodka bottle tossing incidents or wee morning gas runs thorugh skid row for Zac-y poo. Of course, another possibility is it was all true and went down exactly as he has stated. One of those London twins (sad I forget which one now) had some outlandish tale of being kidnapped and forced to do drugs which sounded koo-koo for Cocoa Puffs and even his own family and twin brother didn't believe him. But the kidnappers later confessed to having taken him for a ride and forcing him to do drugs. So who knows. Maybe some homeless guy will show up on TMZ at some point holding a spear and saying 'Yeah, this pretty boy's car ran out of gas in front of us and when he tried to toss his vodka bottle into the trash is smashed right where we were sleeping. So we grabbed our spears and went after him... 'Cause yeah, we had spears!'

So do I. He used to seem nice, but in an effort to drop the wholesome HSM persona, he's dialed up the douche these last few years. Condom on the red carpet was the start of the downhill slide for me.
And he's at a Lohan-esque level of bullshit in all his interviews these days. I understand not wanting to bare your soul, but he's nothing but lies and generic platitudes.

He's been suffering from addiction for the past couple years (I think it came out that he's been to rehab two to three times?), so that might have something to do with the shift. I think he has been really struggling to get it together -- with the rehab stints and mysteriously broken bones and production hold ups on his Neighbors movie -- for the past 3-4 years.
