I am watching Next with Julianne Moore and Nicholas Cage right now and it's awful. Julianne makes some of the worst movies in existence, which would make sense if she was untalented like Jessica Biel. But, Julianne is really talented. So, why is she is making such horrid movies? A gambling addiction like DeNiro, diva on the set, etc?
Her last 5 movies: Next - horrid Children of Men (which was excellent) Freedomland - horrid The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio - The Forgotten - awful
Joe Biden in describing Obama's first term "Osama bin Laden is dead and General Motors is alive."
Ummm...*Next*? I swear, I like to think I keep up with this sort of thing but I've never even heard of that movie. Was it actually released in the theaters?
I love three Julianne Moore performances in particular - "Safe", "Boogie Nights", and "The Big Lebowski". Fabulous!

Next was in the theaters for about a week. It stars Nic Cage as a psychic who, along with Julianne's character, is trying to stop a nuclear bomb. I have no idea why I rented it.
After this movie, Julianne goes on the list of actors to avoid (along with Matthew Mc and Angelina). She has been in too many shit movies.

I think Freedomland and The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio looked better on paper. Or perhaps now that it unfortunately seems she's joined the Glenn Close/Sigourney Weaver/Joan Allen group where they once found great projects that got them noticed especially by the Academy Awards, but unfortunately it seems that they no longer can get those type of roles anymore, so perhaps she was limited in her choices. I also fear now that it seems that she's part of that group that even when the right role comes around for her again that she won't be properly recognized like with Joan Allen and The Upside of Anger who was passed over in favor of someone else even though that year was weak year for leading roles for actresses.
She really annoys me because whenever she is interviewed, she tries to come across as this serious ACtress in the same class as Cate Blanchette, Meryl Streep, etc., but then you remember she's promoting Freedomland or some other stupid movie she's done. She has this pretentious, arty New York thing about her that really annoys me because she does not have the artistic cred to be a film snob. And before you say "But she was so good in Boogie Nights!" remember that Heather Graham was in it too.
I actually laughed when she got shot and died in Children of Men. She's just awful and I can't stand her. The last time I enjoyed one of her performances she was playing Frannie and her evil twin Sabrina on As the World Turns.
