He is a stay-at-home father. And when they were married, he was a stay-at-home husband. He said Sherri didn't appreciate all of the house-husband work he did, such as taking over all of the finances and bill-paying from Sherri's business manager. Seriously. It's probably been said before, but if a rich man left his wife while their surrogate was 5 months pregnant, refused to be a parent to the child in any way, and then demanded that his single-parent ex get a job instead of being a stay-at-home parent...nobody would be siding with that guy. Sherri got played, but that's just too bad.

Sherri has been paying that $4,100 every month. He shouldn't get a dime more. He should be higher on the terrible parent scale.

I agree Ginger. Maybe the guy's a con-man, maybe not, but he is the only care-giver of this child. What's wrong with him asking for money- maybe more than he deserves? Sherry bares responsibility. She screwed up- royally. She married the con-man (if he is), she chose to try to have a child (via surrogate). So, yes, she should pay. The fact that she doesn't want to is so gross to me. This is a child- and her mistakes have caused this situation. Now the child suffers, and, in my estimation- that is more on Sherry than anyone else. What a gross person she is. (the situation is horrible all around- but there comes a point when a person needs to show their integrity- and she has certainly shown something of her character).

The guy may be an asshole, he may have even scammed Shepherd, but she wasn't tricked into getting pregnant - she willing participated in a medical procedure to have a child and then walked away from that baby like a dirty sock.
Now that child basically has only one parent - why are people throwing shade because he's a stay at home dad? If the shoe was on the other foot, how many people would be ridiculing her choice to be a stay at home mom? At least someone is making an effort for that kid.
As for the amount, Sherri is worth 10 million. Her annual salery is estimated at 1.5 million - based just on the little information publicly available, the online California Child support calculator estimates a monthly support of $15,200. So $4,000 sounds like she got off cheap.

She helped bring a child into the world, then she wants to turn her back on the responsibility. Screw Sherri.

As a single mother whose ex is currently about $15,000 in arrears on child support, I feel the same way. Screw Sherri. You had a child, you have to pay.
Edit
The child support laws where I live state that child support should be adjusted along with the supporting parent's income. So, if Sherri is making more than before, she needs to pay more.

The thing is, Sherri wanted a HUSBAND. She probably didn't vet him properly and she got played.
I believe he is a con man, doesn't deserve a dime more and should be in jail because that's where con artists belong IMO, AND she should take care of the baby, because the baby was conceived within the marriage.
I don't get being soft on him just because of a baby; and I'd feel the same way if the genders were reversed because when I was in college, I knew some nasty women who pulled shit just like this.

But what's the difference between a gold digger and a con man? What's the part that makes it illegal? Since marriage was invented, people have been going into it for self-beneficial reasons that don't have to do with pure love. According to Lamar, he was living up to his part of the bargain as her husband - she was the one who announced to him that she wanted the divorce. When we hear about women who poke holes in condoms to get pregnant by rich athletes, we have outlawed the idea that a man can be "trapped". We say that's too bad, he knew the consequences of having sex. Sherri wasn't even tricked, she did it all with her stupid eyes open. What I don't get is why Sherri's BFF Niecy Nash fixed her up with this unemployed grifter. Niecy did some bad vetting too.

$4,000 does sound low if Sherri's annual income is really $1.5M. I do bristle at the fact this asshole doesn't even pretend at getting a job, though. Know too many of that kind of deadbeat in my own family to side with him on that.

Looking at her IMDb page, I cannot see where anything remotely close to $1.5M is coming from. Maybe she was making that when she was on The View, but she's no longer a panelist.
