I never knew about her mom being in the picture like that. UGH. She sounds annoying in real life but I do like her in a silly romcom every once in awhile.
she reminds me of friend I have that speaks her mind way too much, appears to be missing the filter for that.

But if Knocked Up was so sexist and so offensive to her, why did she sign up for it? Instead she takes the role, makes the movie, cashes the paycheck and then when it comes to promoting it, she shits all over it for being sexist?
And of course this wasn't an isolated incident since she also shit all over Grey's Anatomy. And then tried to come crawling back when her movie career fizzled. Glad Shonda Rimes metaphorically told her to fuck off.
And Seth Rogen had a point. I saw The Ugly Truth. Beyond being a total crapfest it was actually even MORE sexist and ridiculous towards women than anything I saw in Knocked Up.

Like I said, just because a woman speaks up when she notices an instance of sexism, she shouldn't then be put in a box and be required to live a life 100% non-sexist. KH's latter choices don't make what she said about a particular experience irrelevant.
A script doesn't mean much to Judd Apatow and doesn't give the actors much of a heads up. He does several takes of the same scene with different lines that go in different directions and then patches it all together later.

No, it just makes her a hypocrite. Nobody is saying she should live a 100% non-sexist life. However, if she's going to criticize Apatow for his writing it should be pointed out that when she got more clout and power in the industry she was still picking garbage like The Ugly Truth, with it's message that a woman is a nasty shrew until she finds the right man to tame her.

The article said she promised to act right 3 years ago and that didn't happen yet there is allegedly a tv show in the works. If it even makes it to the airwaves I predict one of those cancellation after the first episode scenarios. A show that is a hodgepodge of other hot right now tv shows never last especially with her mamager as a producer (real housewife shows excluded cuz that's it's own special snowflake brand of vodka). I don't know if she's broke now or if since the money just isn't flowing like it used to she realizes oh crap I won't have much left in a few years if I keep living the way I am. If athletes can blow through millions celebrities can too. Is she divorced or still married and they do that HRH paltrow thing where they are too beyond beyond to be seen together which is hilarious cuz really no one cares.

No, it just makes her a hypocrite. But whether you feel that way or not, it doesn't make what she said irrelevant. She stated her opinion about a particular experience. If she had declared herself a staunch feminist and thereby declared she would never do anything that didn't live up to those standards, THEN she'd be a hypocrite.

I didn't mind her Knocked Up comments, but she totally lost me with the "please don't consider me for an Emmy" stunt she pulled on Grey's Anatomy. It wasn't like she was in conversation with an interviewer and ran at the mouth without thinking - she had to go out of her way to be a jerk with that one.

I'm not real familiar with this woman and never saw Knocked Up. But it doesn't sound like what she said about it at the time was really that bad. She pointed out its sexism (which sounded spot on) and the negative aspects of her character- But she also said she had a good time 98% of the time so she isn't exactly trashing her co-workers or even the movie itself. She just didn't 'love' it.
It's not like she's Charlie Sheen going off on Two and A Half Men... or the kid who was the Half Man basically saying the whole show was Hell Spawned and encouraging people not to watch it.
I don't know what her deal was with Grey's Anatomy, but she didn't seem too out of line in regards to Knocked Up.

But to me it implies a desire to do better. She was an executive producer on The Ugly Truth. She had the power to go a certain way but instead she followed up her criticism of Knocked Up by doing an even worse movie where sexism was concerned. Why should I take anything she says seriously when viewed through that prism.

However, it now makes more sense given that she and her mother had already started rubbing people in the industry the wrong way. I'm pretty sure that "controversy" would have been more quickly forgotten if she hadn't followed it up with her very ungracious remarks about Grey's. I think that was when regular folks really started side-eying her.
