Eva Mendes is so not A-List though.
B-List, yes, but not A-List.
I've always been meh about her. I don't hate her, but don't really like her either. Glad to see she's getting help if she felt she needed it.

Would anyone really know or care that she'd gone to rehab though if her publicist didn't release a press statement? Some celebs do manage to quietly get help - I think I read Selma Blair went to rehab for something last yr and it only came out after the fact but not from her or her people.

In her defence TMZ actually broke the story posting an exclusive about it to which her reps didn't comment and then they confirmed it later.

I am sure I have said both of these things before, but she looks dirty to me in movies, as in a fine layer of dirt on her, and I think she looks just like Jessica Simpson.

The person who came up with the BI is Ent Lawyer I believe. I question the validity on that alone.
As for Eva I really don't have an opinion on her. The only film of hers I've seen is the Fast and the Furious 2 and her main job was to look pretty and grumpy. I wish her well.

Here's my Eva Mendes story.
I saw her movie with Denzel at the Toronto film fest a few years ago. (can't remember the name of it). She played his girlfriend and this was pretty early on in her career.
Everyone is standing in the lobby of Roy Thomson Hall before the screening and EM walks in after doing the press line. She stands in the middle of the lobby, strikes a pose and yells "I'm here".
Everyone looked at her like 'who gives a shit? and who the hell are you?'
I was embarassed for her. She seemed drunk. maybe high? or just a little high on herself.

I think that movie is Training Day. Which means I've seen two of her films. Guess that shows how much of an impression she made on me since I didn't remember she was in that movie.

Looks like that Starbucks story is on the money after all. Yikes.

Assuming that generally speaking "going into rehab - what kind of press can I garner for this?" isn't the new "partying out of control - look at me! look at me!" I wish her the best.
Geez, maybe Britney's train wreck of the week life, along with recent deaths of Renfro and Ledger, is Hollywood's version of Scared Straight.
