Wasn't her dad on the show? So he was right there while this was going on. They were comfortable before HM, money wise, but that show took the family to the next level. I can see her parents pushing her and turning a blind eye to the way she was treated. Not every parent has their child's best interest at heart, no matter what anyone says.

If she didn't do HM she'd never been the pop star she is now. Take the bad with the good. More's the pity. See what you've done, Disney?

During the "Bangerz" era, I found Miley to be obnoxious and a try-hard, like "See? I'm all grown up and not Hannah Montana at all!! See see see?" Message received.
Now that the "Bangerz" promotion blitz is over, she seems to have settled down. Sure, she still likes to push buttons, but for the most part I feel like she's just being herself for who she is at this stage in her life. She has an IDGAF, like-me-or-don't attitude, but in that good way of having it. I find myself liking her now. I also love her friendship with that loveable weirdo Wayne Coyne, singer of the Flaming Lips.

She's maturing and processing and she's not yet been arrested. It could be worse. Much worse.

She's maturing and processing and she's not yet been arrested. It could be worse. Much worse. Back when Michael Jackson was melting down I began wondering what kind of mind fuck it must be growing up as a 'star.' It seems like nothing would really mean much, because you're surrounded by people who tell you that you're the Greatest! Best! Adored! whatever. At the same time, those same people are pushing you to continue on the treadmill so they can get paid. You'd have to know that on some level, yet those people would pretty much be family to a kid, so you'd probably really want to believe they were sincere, and that those comments about the little things you could change to be even better (keep the money coming in) really are for your own good. Add to that the fact that you would be pretty much given whatever you wanted - hell, it's no wonder so many of these kids grow up to be messed up people. I would imagine that nothing seems real or important to them. I look at Miley as a sort of Drew Barrymore type. She's provoking reactions to figure out what's real, or normal or something. I think she's an interesting person with the potential to be very interesting.

Ah!!! My eyes!!! Just saw on Twitter her first outfit of the night. I can't link that well right now, so maybe Mochkitty or someone else will to it.

I feel like this is going to sound insincere when it's truly not: her waxer must be the best in the biz.
Other than that I don't think she looks any more ridiculous than usual.
