I'm listening to that free album thing she put on Spotify and the first track sounds exactly like what my mates and I used to 'create' on my Kinder Price Cassette Tape Set when we were about 11. Not even good enough for a workout playlist.
And I (vaguely) like Miley.
Eta - her voice is surprisingly good (and mature) on the few tracks where you can hear it.

She has a really great voice, I went to one of her shows of out pure curiosity and she did an acoustic cover of Jolene and it was really, really good...until she had to adlib about Jolene being a slut who gave out blow jobs like they were going out of fashion. And that moment kind of summed up Miley's career in one song. Talented but just tries too damn hard to be 'shocking'.

That'll do, Miley. That'll do. Super NSFW! We get it. Now will you please, go sit down, and cover yourself. You aren't shocking anyone. You're actually really boring.

To the surprise of no one, this was a Terry Richardson photo shoot. I'm sure there are more explicit photos he saved for his private collection. It's cool to wear a t-shirt that says my pussy my choice, but if you think you're in control and having a fun and empowering experience when a man tells you exactly how to present your pussy and licks his lips and tells you that you are a good girl when you do what you're told, you're kidding yourself. Terry Richardson is the one who is empowered during these photo shoots, and he takes advantage of that power whenever he is able. Celebs like Miley don't experience that awful turn of events when a photo shoot turns into a sexual assault, but they really need to stop and think of the women who do and stop working with this repugnant piece of shit.

I just keep thinking, what is the point?

Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out how getting naked and performing for the male gaze is supposed to be "empowering". And it's not "art", because taking your clothes off when you're conventionally attractive and licking stuff provocatively is literally the easiest thing in the world to do and requires no imagination whatsoever. Put your clothes back on, Miley, and come back when you have a better understanding of actual sex positivity and agency.

When I was on reddit the other day I came across the conspiracy theory that the real Miley Cyrus had died and that Disney replaced her with a look alike. For my own amusement, I'm pretending that the person in those photos is really an imposter, and she has no idea she's being tacky as all hell.

Miley too? Oh the cloned humanity! I've lost track of all the celebrities who have supposedly died and been replaced by imposters. I just assume anyone who actually believes in this particular conspiracy doesn't get out much or, like, ever. People don't always look and act the same. If you see enough people in real life (not on screens) you get that.
