I'm surprised Joe Wright didn't call him out. He directed Keira in Pride & Prejudice, Anna Karenina and Atonement. I always suspected he might be a little in love with her.

Maybe Joe went around and kicked his ass. Strange that he doesn't appear to be married or have a significant other. With such a winning personality he is clearly quite the catch. It is strange. You'd think Keira women would be throwing themselves at him.

Joe Wright was the one that abruptly dumped Rosamund Pike when she announced their engagement w/o his consent (or something like that). I wonder if he's a bit of an ass too, or it could very well be that Rosamund was a piece of work and he was smart to get out when he did. Are Keira and Rosamund friendly? Even if they are, I doubt that would be why Joe Wright didn't publicly defend Keira though.

I gotta give it to the guy - that was a darn good apology. He owned it, explained it and didn't try to excuse it. The cynical side of me thinks "of course, he's an artist and has a way with words" But since I don't want to be that cynical I'm going to assume that this was a growing experience for him... unless he does it again.

From that guy's apology: “Recently, in a phone interview, the conversation turned to a discussion about a past film,..." That's a lie right there, isn't it? HE brought up the film and Keira in three different interviews, it wasn't just one. I mean, I'm glad he apologized but this part makes it somewhat shady.

Yeah, it's a nice apology, but he still said a LOT and very publicly.

I don't think it's really a lie, he didn't say the interviewer brought up the subject. The fact that he brought up the subject doesn't changed the fact that the conversation did turn to that subject. I really don't think that's a reason to dismiss his apology jmo

My first thought was that this guy probably had the apology written ahead of time so that he could use it at the right time. That way he gets publicity first for trashing her and then for apologizing. If it was only one interview where he mentioned her I might have bought this, but repeated interviews? I don't. Good apology though.
