Second in the Bale thread.
Love everything about this man. His looks, his acting. That intensity. And who can forget him in Newsies. I am so so psyched to see him in two movies this year, Batman and The New World. Me thinks I'll explode.

Can't wait for the new Batman movie! The only downside is that Dawson's Creek girl being in it...maybe it won't be that bad.
Edited because I love Newsies too! And I thought that I was the only one...

Christian Bale's perfect as Batman. He has the physical presence of Batman the hero as well as the brooding intensity of Bruce Wayne. That's where George Clooney failed - he could do the action hero bit and he was perfect as Bruce Wayne the playboy, but he never convinced as Bruce Wayne the obsessed man driven to invent an alter-ego to fight crime.
I loved Christian in Empire of the Sun, as the child wise beyond his years because of the horrors he'd seen. Again, totally believable. And in Velvet Goldmine, he was able to capture both young Arthur's innocence and optimism as he plunged headlong into the world of Glam Rock and older Arthur's cynicism and disillusionment as the heady optimism of his youth gave way to the Thatcher/Reagan era of conformity.
He's a truly brilliant actor and, in some ways, I'm surprised to see him in something as populist as the Batman franchise. I never thought Bale wanted to be 'A Movie Star', and with these films he's in danger of becoming one.

I love Christian Bale. He has an icy sexiness that is ideal for Batman.
He was also the best thing about Little Women and made me even like Winona.

What does his wife do, besides having his lovely children and such?

Dammit, I'm sorry I started the second topic-I did a search, but nothing came up. Sorry. Loved him in Velvet Goldmine, Newsies and Little Women. And he was so adorable as the Tsarevich Alexei in Mystery of Anna Anderson. According to Awesome Bale, he actually auditioned for the role of Jack in Titanic, but Cameron didn't want TWO British actors playing Americans. Damn you, Cameron. That would have been sweet. (I like DiCaprio, he's a good actor, but Jack was such a bland character and DiCaprio's childish looks only added to that. Christian would have given him a more impish charm that would have made him redeemable.)

Why? Good acting is good acting whether they're putting on an accent or not. Why was it important for both to be Americans anyway? Stupid Cameron indeed. Hollywood sucks.
Maybe the movie wouldn't have bored me so much I turned it off after an hour if the lovely, talented Christian Bale was.. what's his name. *swoons*
