Am I the only person who thinks the normally gorgeous Bale looks kind of, well, not hot in the trailer for "Batman Begins"?
I hope his insane weight loss didn't affect his face.

I just can't see past his American Psycho character. You and me both. That is the only thing I have ever seen him in so I have been confused as to his appeal. Maybe I will finally get it once I see this film. Until then, the guy remains extremely creepy to me lol. Must prove he is a good actor. ;D

I was introduced to Christian Bale via the movie Equilibrium by a kind friend. And I have to say... me likey. He has dreamy cheekbones. And he seems to be a talented actor. I don't think the film is very well-known, but it's sort of similar to The Matrix and was pretty good. I'm looking forward to Batman now that I know who he is.

His face looks great to me in every Batman Begins trailer I've seen. Then I suggest you rent Empire of the Sun & Velvet Goldmine. If those don't get you over American Psycho, nothing will. He's proved that long before Batman Begins in Newsies, Swing Kids & Little Women as well as EotS, VG & AP, among other films.

Equlibrium is similar to the Matrix, The Machinist was a rip off of Fight Club and Momento.
I went to see The Machinist at the movies and walked out halfway through. I decided I had better things to do than sit through a rehash of movies I had seen before and liked a lot better the first time.
And the thin? It was scary.
Am I the only one not that "impressed" by the weight loss. Massive weight loss (or weight gain) for a part seems to be held a synonamous with great acting. Yes he lost a lot of weight and that must have been physically gruelling for him. But it doesn't make him a great actor or translate to a great performance IMO.
I seem to remember more fuss being made over Renee Z's getting "fat" for Bridget Jones than the actual quality of her performance.
That sort of thing just bugs. But YMMV.
As for the poster who said they found him hella creepy? Ditto.

From that celeb-baby website:
How refreshing to have an actor live a quiet life and not pimp out his pregnant wife for additional fame. His acting speaks for itself, and I like that!
Boo to Cameron for not casting him in Titanic. Christian has one of the most believable American accents I have ever heard! I saw Empire of the Sun after American Psycho and was shocked to find out he wasn't from around these here parts (then I ran out and rented everything he'd ever been in!).

He could have used his Newsies accent and then Cameron could have made Jack a native of Brooklyn rather than Chippewa Falls.
I read an interview where he said his wife got really freaked out by his weight loss and that he feels really bad now because he put her through hell.
Christian, I love you, but that's just asking for a Darwin Award. (technically an honorable mention though, since the fact that he now has a child disqualifies him).

I think CB is a great, though often overlooked, actor. While he does an excellent American accent, something about that silibant 's' bothers me (then again most lisping bothers me).

It's possible the lisp is a result of him having had his teeth capped for American Psycho.
