"only a certain amount of bullshit?" Jeeze, how MUCH is a "certain amount?" Is there a limit to the number of hospital visits?

Details about Halle's latest project:
October Squall - An African American women gets pregnant after having been raped by a Caucasian man. She raises this son and when he reaches puberty he starts to remind her very much of his father. Since he is very light skinned, he passes for being white and becomes a racist despite his black mother.
Halle's playing a VICTIM!? NO WAY!!!!

Hee. You got that right. A real popcorn flick. But seriously, it sounds like a film that's built to court controversy. I'd heard the plot described before - minus the racial element - and it sounded like a dark rumination as to whether criminal tendencies can be inherited. Now that it's got race in the mix, the provocative factor is upped even more. Since this sounds like difficult material, she'd better hope that she gets a great director.

***Meekly Raises Hand***
Er, because her good friend and mentor, Oprah!, told her?
Heh.
As for the other, I agree with the majority of posters -- she. cannot. act. to. save. her. life. [/i] In fact, she takes an hour or so off MY lifespan when I catch even a minute of her during my channel flipping moments.
Watching her emote is painfully boring. In fact, she's the reason I won't watch a movie I'd normally see. As a Bond movie afficionado, I can't bring myself to watch Die Another Day because she's in it.
Right on about the vacant stare-dead eyes thing too. She has a kind of classic beauty, but it's soulless. There's no vivacity, no sense of joie de vivre about her. It's like she's borrowing her emotions from a deceased person, and it ain't Dorothy Dandridge, I'm telling you.

Good Lord Halle, you're Black. Your mama told you that with your skin color that's all anybody would ever see. You were forced to share that Homecoming Queen crown with Betsy Lou because of your complexion. We get it! Let someone else have a go at the long-suffering Black woman roles, eh? I feel like almost every roles she takes is specifically designed to remind us that she is *Black* and being a Black woman is hard (Tell me something I don't know, Berry).
This is the current casting process in Hollywood: Black woman victimized by white men = Halle Berry Black woman adored by white men = Thandie Newton Black woman with no interaction with white men = look for a Latina to play the role

And I've heard of this film WITH the racial aspect, minus the rape - it was called "Imitation of Life", and they made it TWICE. And that flick with her marrying the (WHITE!) man with kids? Much, much better when it was called "Yours, Mine and Ours" - or shit, even "The Brady Bunch".
Three words for you: Nude. Rape. Scene. I smell another Oscar.
If you REALLY want to be mindblown, watch a Halle permformance, and then watch an Angela/Alfre/Lynne Thigpen performance. Your brain will IMPLODE wondering how Halle became A-list and the rest of those wonderful actresses did not. (Rest in peace, Lynne!)
