I like how the interviewer calls it his "first" Oscar nomination. Not just "a nomination." Like she knows there are going to be more. Damn straight.

Does anyone else think he looks like Giovanni Ribisi?

Does anyone else think he looks like Giovanni Ribisi? I guess I could see that... kinda in the same way of Jake Gyllenhal is the cuter version of Tobey Maguire.

LA LA LA--can't hear you!!! NEVER put the names "Gyllenhal" and "Maguire" in the same sentence! ;D
ETA: Um, topic?? He was SO incredible in Half Nelson. I saw it the day it opened in NY. This and Children of Men were by far my favorite movies of the year.

Per my post in the encounters thread -- he and Rachel are superadorable together. Adorable. No snuffing of crushes here.
I'm gonna be yelling so hard for him on Oscar night.

I completely and totally adore this dude. I had never really heard much about him pre-Note Book, but holy cow, after that movie I was/am pretty much his bitch. So freaking hot!
Oh and I love that he is dating Rachel McAdams. It's so fangirly of me, but after watching The Notebook, you just KNEW that their chemistry was authentic.
I'm very happy that he is getting such great reviews in his new movie.

Even though he was a little skinny and young looking, I thought he was totally hot in The Notebook. Young-looking, maybe, but skinny? Boy was buff in The Notebook! Anyway, he's definitely up there as one of my favourite actors and I love the fact that he's finally getting the attention that he deserves. Besides being totally SEXY, he was amazing in The Believer, The United States Of Leland and The Slaughter Rules, completely believable and swoon-worthy as the romantic lead in The Notebook and the best thing about Murder By Numbers and Stay. Half Nelson probably won't be released in Australia until about 5 years' time; in the meantime, I will do a happy dance that he's been recognised for such a small film. The Notebook would have been nothing without him, Rachel McAdams and their awesome chemistry. On another note, anyone heard his original song 'Put Me In The Car'? Boy can also play guitar and sing. Yay.

I have "Put Me in the Car" on my iPod and I LOVE IT.
I first noticed him in Murder by Numbers and instantly fell in love. The boy just exudes sexy. It's funny, though, because if I were to just see a picture of him, I'd think "yeah, he's OK. Not bad looking." But when you see him in action - talking, moving, licking the side of Sandra Bullock's face - it becomes a whole other thing.

He's such a hottie.
Having said that, I really didn't like the Notebook.

Saw the Notebook last night, just to decide for myself whether or not Notebook Gosling is buff or skinny (I vote buff).
It's so not my type of movie at all. I don't like Chick Flicks, but I loved the Notebook, mostly because of the great jobs done by Gosling and McAdams, and of course James Garner and Gena Rowland.
