I won't lie, I do like some of Ashlee's songs. And now I have 'Little Miss Obsessive' in my head. I think Pete Wentz either produced or co-wrote it, which probably explains why it's so catchy. I'm going to check out her last album now (what can I say - trashy, overwrought pop music is my crack!). Yeah, JSimp yells but she's still a decent vocalist when restrained. Can't really say the same for Ashlee. Edited: Whoops! Her ex had nothing to do with the recording. Thanks, Wikipedia!

I love Autobiography (the single). I think that song should have been the second single off the album. SNL was the beginning of the end, LaLa was the thing that put the nails in her career coffin. That was the song Ashlee hinged her redemption on, and it's a song that someone like her was guaranteed to sound like shit singing live. LaLa was a part of the faux punk rock package, but Ashlee was never anything close to punk rock. She was cute, dumb and perky. Nothing wrong with that. It's too bad she had to put on a costume and pretend to be something she wasn't. She might have had a better chance just being herself.

How old is she now? She may be well past the age to be a perky pop idol anyway.

Her pop career would definitely been over long before now, but she might have been able to eek out a few good years back in the day if the SNL aftermath wasn't handled so poorly.

I wonder what she does to make a living? Modeling for her sister's clothing line won't pay the bills forever. My dirty secret? L-O-V-E is totally my jam; it makes an appearance at every single pre-funk I have. I've been known to karaoke it. It's just irresistibly earwormy.

Ashlee probably doesn't have to worry about working ever again. I am sure she got a ton of money from Wentz when they divorced and she should have made good money back in her heyday.

I liked Ashlee's songs far more than Jessica's. I don't really think Jessica can sing that well anyway; she yells. I don't think Ashlee would have had a long career but she would have been in a better place than she is now. Yeah, I was just reading through this thinking Ashlee actually has a few songs I really enjoyed at the time. I never thought Ashlee was shockingly untalented for the era, considering who her contemporaries were. I also was dead confused when people made fun of her looks. I get Jessica being the pretty one, but I always thought Ashlee was a cute girl.

It really is something that both Ashlee and Jessica, a couple of mediocre dopes, have done so well for themselves financially. America!!

Man I just heard Pieces of Me the other day and it made me feel so old because it sounds soooo dated now. Wow. That "sound" was so familiar then, that whole Avril/The Mattix/Michelle Branch thing. Lindsay's album also had an identical sound. It seems like a lifetime ago.
