I remember that fansite-- Crowe's Perch?? I stayed almost exclusively in the OTT thread obsessing (incorrectly) over LOST. It was a good group of people-- the political thread was great too. Then I think we all lost interest in Crowe, and the site shut down.

But I'm always creeped out by fans who ship the actors instead of the characters. That just seems to step over some boundary for me. I remember the crazies on Grey's Anatomy who insisted that Patrick Dempsey and Ellen Pompeo were in a real relationship even though both actors were married at the time. Castle as well. Weren't the BSCrazies insisting Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic were in a relationship too? And what is with fans and creepy photomanips? If you're going to make 'em, at least keep them away from the actors.

I love Cait and Sam, but I can't see them as a couple. Just observing them over the past few years in interviews and on their social media, they have very different interests. Cait is very arty and kind of boho and Sam is super into working out, sports, fitness, etc. He's a lovely guy, but she seems way more mature and intelligent than him. I think they have a very strong working relationship and friendship because they have went from unknown to major stars on the same show and obviously have a lot of intense scenes together, but they don't make sense as a real life couple.
I think this crazy fandom nonsense is just a way for these loonies to get attention from the stars they obsess over or to become celebs of a sort within these fandoms. Sam and Cait, Cumberbatch, Rob and Kristen, they've addressed these weirdos in interviews which just feeds their egos. Imagine being obsessed and the star actually acknowledges your existence in an interview, even if it's just to say what a pain in the ass you are. It's like another form of stalking (that can easily turn into real, genuine stalking).

My Russell Crowe obsession was pretty mild, but in the end, it taught me one important lesson, I now crush on characters, not actors.

One of my favorite Bruce Springsteen quotes is: "Trust the art, not the artist." I have learned this lesson many times.

Isn't Sam gay? I mean, I guess he might be bi or something but he never gave any indication of being anything other than a solid Kinsey 6 (and out) before he went to America.
The Cumbies have doubled down on the crazy and upped the stakes from "blackmailing hooker" to "Satanist Princess involved in international organised crime." Incidentally "Satanist Princess" is the title of my autobiography so I'm slightly peeved at having it stolen.

Every time Sophie Hunter is brought up here I have to check her tumblr tag for lulz. All I can say is between stage managing the showmance he forced Benedict Cumberbatch into and stage managing the showmance he forced Michael Fassbender into, it's amazing that Harvey Weinstein still has time to produce movies and sexually harass actresses.

BC's been involved with Sophie how long now? They're married and she's carrying their 2nd kid. You'd think the crazies would give it up by now.
Or maybe 'saving' Martin Freeman from Amanda Abbington gave them fresh hope and they need BC to be free so Sherlock and John he and MF can play house together for realz.

It's amazing how all Amanda's unpopularity vanished the second she ditched him.
Amanda incidentally is now dating a former colleague of mine who's about a million times hotter than Freeman. Enjoy your problematic hobbit, shippers!
