I find the whole industry vain and boring. I don't pay attention to what is in fashion or anything like that.
Old school...Stephanie Seymour is and was gorgeous. I think I saw her on Law & Order: Criminal Intent and she was still stunning.

At the Derek Zoolander Center For Children Who Can't Read Good And Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Good Too, we teach you that there's more to life than being really, really good looking.
Sorry...Could.Not.Resist.

Here you go, groovethang. Yeah, the young models of today are so meh - no personality. I used to love the supermodels - especially Stephanie Seymour. She may have had her trashy Axl phase but she was always just simply stunning.

Thanks, Yossarian!
I saw Stephanie Seymour on L&O the other night; she still is beautiful, but I have to admit, the voice threw me. Not sure of what I was expecting but maybe something a bit more commanding. She sounds more girlish than I thought she would.

I still think the industry is still pretty glamourous and exciting, plus the girls make so much money now compared to years ago. I found this link about Twiggy and Jean Shrimpton. I didn't know back then the models had to do their own hair and makeup. Twiggy always seemed meh to me, whereas with Jean Shrimpton I could see the beauty. Same with the models now, some seem gorgeous while bigger models just seem dull.

I find the so-called supermodels to be basically all the same person. They all look so much alike to me that it woulld give me a headache to try to tell them apart.
Now the plus-sized models (who are actually the real supermodels), those girls are awesome! Not one of those little twigs has anything on Mia Tyler or Emme (too bad she's retired).
I long for the day when at least ONE plus-sized model is featured on the catwalks during New York or Paris fashion week. And not as a novelty item, as a serious model on the same level as the Twig Girls.

I think that Gemma Wards recent shoot in Vogue (Paris edition I think) is fairly amazing. She is just incredibly striking in photos. She totally needs a new facial expression though.

I disagree. Mia Tyler looks like Liv gone wrong and Emme looks very bland. It has nothing to do with plus-sized vs. skinny, I just don't like those two in particular.
