I think the Celebrity Baby Blog woman is making her living off of that. She's certainly shilling enough products. Every other post is now ads.

You're kidding right? Because he is currently fatter than God. ETA: That comes off as really assy of me toward you. I don't mean it like that, more like I find it crazy to believe he has a trainer because he is not only out of shape, but has gained a ton of weight in the past year or so. Maybe he's fat now because he's no longer into PNP?

There's only about two blogs that I read regularly; Dooce and Loobylu, although I don't read the latter as often anymore. I don't know why I have such an attachment to these two in particular, but I've been reading Dooce for about three years and Loobylu for.. six? Sheesh! (Is it weird that I now know so much about complete strangers, thanks to their blogs? I guess that's kind of what they get, though..) Dooce? Much of her writing is so touching and so honest and so funny, but some of it? SO ANNOYING. (But I, obviously, can't complain about the overzealous use of the shift key because I so do it too. It's just so much more descriptive than italics!) But I think it's mostly her more recent stuff that strikes me as sometimes annoying, which is what the archives are for! Additionally, I think her husband is quite smokin' (and she, quite foxy. They're a good looking couple!).

I'm one of those people who now works for herself because of my blog, although the blog itself isn't a source of revenue. But I did use my blog to get a book deal two years ago, and have been working as a freelance writer ever since. I make way more money than I ever did when I was working for the Man. Thanks, Blogger!
I get none of the ad revenue from my blog, which means I'm stupid. But at least it profits a free alt-weekly that I support.
I do read Dooce and I enjoy her writing, though I am surprised that she's able to support an entire family that way. I'm also surprised that she hasn't made the jump to a book.

I think it helps when the blog is unique. Perez was so unique initially but now there are so many entertainment blogs out there that you can inevitably find someone with the news but you don't have to deal with the crappy drawing on photographs and ego.
Diablo's blog had a definite unique viewpoint, as did that other blog into book "Julie & Julia" with the cooking project.
I guess now I'm just snoring at some of the mom blogs because I didn't get in there when they started and everyone and their sister has a mom-blog so the unique feeling is gone.

Being a serious amateur photographer, I check out a lot of photoblogs. I love Chromasia (check on the blog link at the top). Some of his photos are really beautiful. Heather Champ takes some really interesting photos as well.

Most of the mommy bloggers are deadly dull, but some of the more popular ones (like A Little Pregnant) are hilarious. Also, it's fun when a popular mommy blogger admits something like using the Cry It Out method or hating breastfeeding and then the OMG U R A BAD MTHR brigade storms the blog and the resulting fireworks can be very entertaining

I have no interest in kids, but I love watching psycho MommyBots flip out over Ferberizing and formula in the comments section. Funny how motherhood has really become one of the most incendiary subjects a person can write about.
