There was an eleven month old boy at Trunk or Treat dressed up as the little old man from Up. Complete with a walker with tennis balls. It was one of the cutest things I've ever seen in my life. He was swarmed with "peoplerazzi" all night. Baby B is 14 months and this was his costume. He is OBSESSED with his walker toy, so I knew he'd have a blast if he could run around with it for Halloween. I only managed to get one decent picture, and that's with my husband's foot on the walker, because he couldn't be stopped otherwise. I would LOVE to see the picture if you can swing it. I'm sort of Halloween challenged, so I have to enjoy everyone else's awesomeness.

Batguy and I headed downtown on public transit Saturday night to meet friends for dinner and I loved checking out the costumes (even if seeing all the youngsters did make me feel old.) We saw an ice berg, a rose bush from Alice in Wonderland, Arthur (the cartoon aardvark), a duracel battery.

That's the FOURTH Shining Twins I've seen this year. What gives? I've also seen a bunch of Where's Waldo, and there were 3 Richard Simmons at the ball I went to. That one I kind of get, since that podcast was this year, but not the others. What I tried to post last night, but somehow quoted another post in a completely different thread (?!?) My ex husband has a pair of German Shepherds who are sisters and litter mates. I don't see them often enough to be able to tell them apart, but supposedly it is possible. What my un-discerning eye sees when I pull up is a pair of identical looking dogs, both with the same floppy ear, standing side by side in identical positions watching me get out of my car. Cree-pee. I refer to them as The Evil Shining Twins. Looks like Bruce and his friend had a good time with it. Which is a very conflicting kind of hot.

Damn, I love the idea of The Shining twins and if my one work friend was still working there would've totally suggested it. As is, I had to bag my first idea ('50's housewife) because the dress I ordered is not vintage-y enough (but it is suitable for non-costume wear and next event I go to I will be wearing it), then my second idea petered out (borrowed my sister's Wonder Woman costume, but she shrunk the shirt and it's so tight on me I could barely breathe), so I went with Plan C: my other sister has Panda onesie pajamas, so I'm wearing those and doing panda eye makeup and that's it. Not super-creative, but it'll do.

It’s not Halloween, but Miss P and I went to Akron Comicon today. She reused her Bonnie Puppet costume and I borrowed some items (and made some) to go as Katanafrom Suicide Squad. We did not win the Cosplay contest, unfortunately. But it was fun. Oh, and the creator of Katana was there and gave me the seal of approval. (And he autographed my mask).

I went trick or treating with my dad's fiancé's family dressed as an astrologer. Was fun.

How are y'all handling trick-or-treaters tonight, if at all?
We're planning to put a tray of bagged treats on the stoop in front of our house, with a sign saying, "Happy Halloween-Please take one!" I may make ds2 sit out there in his Grim Reaper costume to make sure the teenagers don't show up and take all the candy...

We bought full size candy bars this year and will spread them out on a big tray. The plan is sit outside right outside our door and put the candy down on the ledge near the sidewalk (roughly 6-7 feet away). It’s going to be cold, though, so maybe we will watch from inside to make sure no one steals the whole lot at once.

We have supersizes candy bars. We'll be handing them out with masks and gloves from inside. The gloves are for any concerns of the parents.
We stay warm and we don't have to monitor any treats left outside.
It is 58 degrees, so actually pretty warm for this "fall" and especially with snow still on the ground.
I'm not anticipating any kids, but I have 4 boxes of massive KitKats which my husband will begrudgingly eat all of in the next few months.
(ETA, I cant do chocolate, so they are all his. "Begrudgingly" because he complains with every tossed wrapper that he just ate 420 cal.)
