Vytas is smarmy, but Abi is damn coocoo for cocoa puffs. I don't see Abi lasting much longer.
It is interesting seeing the mix of old school/new school game play. I'm looking forward to the season more than I thought I might, since I'm not a big fan of bringing back past players.

My DVR cut out just as Probst said "let's tally the votes." Who went home?

The votes were all for Abi and Vytas, but Vytas went home.

I’m glad Vytas went home. I was so embarrassed watching him do yoga in his skivvies I had to watch through my fingers. Enough of that. Abi-Maria is not far behind him, though. Bitch crazy. As a whole, I prefer Bayon over Ta Keo, but I’m still rooting for Spencer to win. I hate almost everything about him, but I admire his scrappiness and ability to adapt. Joey Amazing is still awesome! When Keith let the torch go out, I thought it was all over. Slow and steady wins the race. The OGs seem completely bewildered by how much the game has changed. They’re not even thinking about HIIs or strategizing at this point. Meanwhile Shirin is already mapping out the whole game. Which is a mistake. She is still coming on waaaaaay too strong, which is what sunk her last time. Speaking of HIIs, I didn’t think Kelly would have the chutzpah to grab the idol during the challenge. Good on her! I like Jeff Varner. I think he’s in way over his head, but he gives good TH.

I haven't watched this show for a few seasons (I guess I don't like "new school" players or style), but I tuned in for Kelly, Jeff and to some degree, Kimmy. Just because those early seasons were so entertaining and the show was something back then. Even though I've watched up to season 27, I don't remember half of these players.
Jeff Varner is a charming bastard. I'm almost certain Probst is going to tempt him with a peanut butter in a really evil way. Because JP is a charming bastard too.
And on this old school vs new school topic, is that a thing? When did the new school era begin? If OS is about setting up camp and working, and NS is about lounging on the beach and strategizing, then I wish one team was all NSers who implode as a team when they have no food or water or shelter. Clearly, I'm old school.

I can't pinpoint the exact season, but for me the division between old school and new school is the introduction of the hidden immunity idol, as well as stupid contrivances like redemption island, exile island, and the "Tyler Perry" idol.

I like the idea of an "old school" versus 'new school" season. I think that could be quite interesting.
How annoying must Vytus be if he is more annoying than Abi!?!

Jeff Varner came to play!
Shirin learned absolutely nothing from her season.

Me too. He's entertaining and very smart, if too arrogant for his experience in this game.
The AVClub does a game of this show still, and I have Spencer as one of my Final 4 Picks: I also picked Andrew Savage, Jeff Varner, and Tasha. The top prize is... not a million dollars.
