I like Aubrey, so I was worried she'd be going home. I was THRILLED that it was Scott instead, as I find him and Jason insufferable. And Scott left with the idol, so now Jason is idoless. Ha!

And Scott left with the idol, so now Jason is idoless. Ha! And Tai still has his idol AND the extra vote. Double ha!

How the Jury made that decision last night, I do not know. It certainly was not presented during the season. Michelle was "the pretty girl" with a cookie cutter personality and corporate speak interview style. Even after her win last night, she basically regurgitated Jeff Probst's words back to her. Aubry was really robbed.
Sia, while that is a lovely thing to do, you still took a lot of time away from people who will probably never get this kind of spotlight again.
A disappointing ending to a pretty good season.

A disappointing ending to a pretty good season. My thoughts exactly. I didn't dislike Michele or anything, but based on the amount of screen time both Tai and Aubry got compared to her, I would never have guessed that outcome (from a purely editorial standpoint anyway, like the editors knew she won...but we still didn't get much about her.) When they had that last challenge, I really thought it was going down to a final 2 and Aubry was toast then but when they revealed that they were all staying, I thought she had it locked up. Not sure how I feel about the big twist. Kind of takes away a big part of the game from the person who gets voted off the jury (and clearly Neal had his speech planned) and in this case, might have officially tipped the scales. Though maybe not, if Aubry had gotten more than 2 votes, they would have shown it , so maybe it didn't matter? All in all, I liked the season more than I was expecting but that ending was a letdown.

I think the finale was one big commercial for how Michelle was about to win, so I actually ff'd the jury speeches and wasn't surprised that she won. I did hear her last speech about always being told she was on the bottom but still having faith in herself, and I thought that was pretty powerful.
I think the vote out the jury twist was fine, BUT Neil should not have been allowed to speak to her.
He not only may have ended up influencing the jury anyway, the whole point of the twist, but he gave Michelle an early idea of how the jury viewed her, giving her that much more time to craft her arguments in her defense.
Usually knowing how the jury views you comes as a shock the night of final tribal.
ETA: okay, I just saw the preview of next season: Gen X vs. Millennials!? Gross gross gross. The sound bites from the Gen X'ers? My how quickly you forget the Baby boomers and entire world saying that about YOU. If they're all going to be so incredibly self-oblivious I will count myself out.
I'm on the very tail end of Gen X, I guess, since the generation definition (i.e. Years) keeps expanding. Believe me those of us with late 70s bdays were not included or even welcomed when the generation was named, we were too young to be part of the "cool college jaded workforce or purposeful not working force" when we were only in early HS let alone late Middle School.
So I guess I consider myself in the no man's land between the two. And most of my friends are younger than me. And believe me dears, you two groups are Not That Different.

I didn't bother watching the reunion, as I read about it first and saw it was a waste of time. I'm ambivalent about Michelle winning. I was hoping it would be Aubry, Cydney, and Michelle in the final three, but I think ultimately Aubry got robbed. Like others, I really didn't get the jury's line of thinking. I'm also kind of meh on the twist of getting rid of a jury member.

I was expecting Aubry to win because she really played the game well. I guess Tai didn't get any votes? Still, the season was a good one.

I just listened to this " Making the Sausage" podcast about designing reality show challenges, featuring a consultant on Survivor. I found it pretty interesting.

So, new Survivor: Gen X v Millennials. Isn't it kind of insane to film on a tropical island in cyclone season?

Well, it is called Survivor. Let's see them actually survive something. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) The Millenials make my slapping hand twitch, as does the show's heavy stereotypes of Millennials. And how is a 52-year-old a Gen Xer? Although I guess there's no other demographic category. People born from 1945-1964 are Baby Boomers, but the last 6-8 years of those are not Boomers at all (no connection to the typical boomer events: JFK assassination, 60s counterculture, Beatles, Woodstock). So I suppose 1965 is when Gen X starts?
