Is it just me or are her arms freakishly long in those pictures?

I don't have any great hate for SJP or any particular love - I thought she was good in the geek girl roles like "Square Pegs" or "Footloose" and she's a decent enough actress in general, but they kind of lost me when they declared her to be sexy and beautiful.

Beautiful dress, but she looks so smug and full of herself in those pics--like she really believes that she's the princess of NYC, or something.
It's pathetic how SATC became a vanity project for her towards the end. You'd think that someone would clue her in on what an asshole Carrie truly was.

I actually really like SJP. I don't know why. Maybe it is because I never watched SATC so my opinion of her was never tainted.
And...I actually think she is kinda pretty. She certainly doesn't have traditionally beautiful features, I think she knows it, and I think for the most part she wears them well.

I have never been able to watch SATC. Every clip and commercial I've seen shows the characters to be thoroughly, disgustingly unlikable. Like once they're talking about diamond rings:
Carrie: The ring was not good. It was a pear-shaped diamond, with a gold band. Brown haired girl: ICK!!!! *gasp* Kim Catrall (Samantha?): No wonder you threw up!
THESE are supposed to be the hip, happening, cool people to hang out with?

Hee. I realized watching that scene that it would probably offend a lot of women, particularly women who wear pear-shaped diamonds on gold bands. But it was realistic. A fashionable New York City woman of the new millennium would definitely not go for a ring like that.

It just didn't make sense to me, because WHAT exactly is wrong with a ring like that? Maybe I'm just not up on what's "with it" and "now!"

God, totally. I generally like her although the trying-to-forever-be-a-girl thing BUGS. But ITA that in the last few years the smugness is reaching almost Fishstickian proportions. Swanning about in the big fashion milieu makes you that way.

I can't stand her. She looks like a drag queen, or a male-to-female tranavestite who switched over in order to live out some ideal of prancing, eternal pseudo-girlhood.
I hate her itswy-bitswy little girl voice the most, though. Chick, you're over 40. Grow up!

Exactly. She used to have a goofy charm that made her cute. But after she took the role of Carrie it's like she started believing her own press that she was this conventional beauty. It's like she doesn't get that she was cute playing the underdog, and her smugness now just makes her ugly to me.
Every time I hear her sing "guys think I'm cute" in that GAP ad my eyes roll back in my head.
