I really liked the dating a billionaire sketch, Jim really gets into his characters.
I actually thought Weekend Update was pretty good this week.

Oh man, the Billionaire sketch ... by the time Carrey got to a room full of guys named Dennis, my husband was crying from laughter.

No matter how big or small his contribution is to a character or a skit, Jim Carrey always owns it. To me, that's mad respect for his comedic (and at times dramatic) contribution to his craft.
He was no less dedicated when he did a skit on Jimmy Fallon's show for "Real People, Fake Arms" back in June. Carrey, Jeff Daniels and Fallon...hilarity ensues!
Now for this week with an 8-minute performance by Prince? Yes, please.

So Michael Che shared his thoughts on that catcalling video that has been going around and they are pretty obnoxious. When he got flack on that he just doubled down: And then he sarcastically apologized: You know I kind of got a douchey vibe from him on the show but I wasn't sure if it was just Colin Jost sucking the life out of the room. But no, he is a douche. Its too bad, I wanted to like him. But now I'll probably just fast forward through the whole weekend update.

I didn't watch the whole thing but the Lincoln commercials were awesome. I kinda liked Helvis too.

I didn't watch the whole thing but the Lincoln commercials were awesome. I kinda liked Helvis too. Helvis reminded me of classic In Living Color Jim Carrey. Weird and high concept, but strangely funny. I still quote Fire Marshall Bill whenever possible.

I don't know if there is a character I've loathed more in my multi-decade history of watching SNL than Boss with Baby Body.
Also, I don't have a coherent thesis for the rest of this post, so I'll just say the whole season feels like a major rut. The cast seems like they should be doing better. The occasional songs are fairly good (I liked last night's Thanksgiving song) but Weekend Update sucks.

Last night's show was probably the best so far this season. And Bruno Mars was outstanding. I usually fast forward thru the musical guests but I watched both performances.

I only saw the first music act, but thought it was pretty good. I liked the home for Thanksgiving song and Black Annie, but I swear, Baby Boss ruins every episode. Can someone explain it to me? I really don't get it.
