OT--Sunnyhorse, you're from THE CHUCK. Do you ever cross the bridge into St. Louis County? Because most Chuckers I know don't/won't. Of course, I'm an STL County snob, so it goes both ways.

OT--Sunnyhorse, you're from THE CHUCK. Do you ever cross the bridge into St. Louis County? Because most Chuckers I know don't/won't. Of course, I'm an STL County snob, so it goes both ways. I was born in St. Charles and grew up outside of town, but now I live farther out, near an itty-bitty "town" called Josephville. (Our mailing address is Wentzville.) Until I started working for myself, I crossed the river almost (I lived in South St. Louis for a couple of years in there) every day, 1988-2003 (the last six years were spent in U. City, at the Riverfront Times), and many of my friends and relatives live "over there." We should totally have a St. Louis Greecie get-together! It'd be us and, uh, CycloneKVC, if she can make it down from (I believe) Iowa; and Nodo, who hasn't posted since October; and, if we can get Jensational to visit her folks or Shanmac to visit her future in-laws, well, we'll have a totally happening party. Topic: Before Budd Dwyer killed himself on the air, a female broadcast journalist, Christine Chubbuck, did the same thing. (I still have a book from journalism school that used the lede from Sally Quinn's Washington Post story on Chubbuck as an example of something or other mundane and had always been fascinated by the story but didn't know much about it.) Did anyone here witness it?

I was watching sports tonight and they showed a pairs ice skaking team doing spins. The male team member got to close to the female memeber and he slashed her face with his skate!! She drops to the ice in pain, with blood around her. I was alone and I kinda yelled out in horror. When they showed the spartscaster after that, he said " I guess I should have warned you all about that." Duh! The girl is ok..had surgery and is stable.Thank god the skate didn't hit her eye. I will live with that image forever.

Resurrecting this thread from the dark ages to post that the House of Cards scene in which Francis Underwood throws his ex-lover in front of a train was the first genuinely shocking TV moment I've had in a long while. Possibly since Rosalyn Shays. Possibly ever. I was literally hand-over-mouth/gasp-out-loud when I saw it.

I'm an avid tweeter but because it's not "live tv" and I'm loathe to spoil people I was home alone and was like, "OMG. Must talk about but can't...ahhhhh!"

Now I want to watch that show- Rosalyn Shays still causes me to look before I step onto an elevator.

This just reminded me of Romano walking into the helicopter rotor on ER, and that makes me think of MASH when Radar announced Blake's death. To this day I can't watch Mark Green's death episode on ER. Man, when it's well done it is really well done, isn't it?

Scandal had some pretty crazy moments, mostly all the deaths at the hands of other characters.
I think I gasped when they revealed Toby to be working for A on Pretty Little Liars.
When Jack's weird storyline was revealed to be a flash forward on Lost.

The scene from ER when Noah Wyle was stabbed by the patient and he collapsed only to see Kellie Martin laying under the bed in a pool of blood. I was not even a big ER fan and was like, holy shit!
