Soon-Yi has a Master's Degree from Columbia University.
I think the "mildly retarded" myth may come from how Mia tried to portray Soon-Yi when she was waging her war against Woody in the press.

That makes me feel a little better; Woody picked someone who is apparently on his level intellectually.

I keep thinking of this mega uncomfortable looking pics of him with his daughters. They looked like they didn't want to be anywhere near him. I sense a tell-all book in the daughters' future.

It was unconscionable and gross and unforgivable what Woody did to Mia with Soon-yi, but I seriously side-eye Mia for all the "mildly retarded" comments about Soon-yi. Not cool.
I still watch Polanski films. I still watch Woody's films. I guess I don't have a problem separating the art from the artist, but understand why others can't do this. I think it's because I didn't really know all of their sordid back stories when I began watching their films. I remember later watching Polanski's The Pianist and thinking, the man who made this film is a rapist and a pervert, but damn is this movie perfect: touching, beautiful, gut-wrenching, etc. Felt the same way about some of Woody's films (such as Interiors), though my favorites are his thrillers, Match Point in particular. Rapists can make great art, because they're still human. Whether you want to give them money for their art is another question entirely...

It's so heartwarming that Daddy let his little girl make some decisions* on her own.
*did she get to decide when she could walk to the bus stop by herself?

This statement from him grosses me out almost as much as the "paternal" thing. Remember when this scandal broke and people (including Allen) tried to brush this off by saying Woody wasn't a father figure he was just some guy her mom was dating (who was father to her 2 siblings)? He's a pig. I don't understand how anyone could work with him.

That makes me feel a little better; Woody picked someone who is apparently on his level intellectually. Her bachelors is in art and her masters in special education. Does she have degrees because she earned them or because her step-father/husband is Woody Allen and he paid for them? I don't think she's all that bright. Even Sarah Palin has a degree.
