Probably because the hype seemed to fizzle quickly. It felt like the wedding was talked about for one wk at the most. I guess he figured his wedding would be like Prince William's, with the talk lasting 2 or 3 mths.

I LOVE the flapper dress she wore at the reception. I dislike the pantsuit she wore to the civil ceremony, mostly because they are too long!!!! Hem those pants!

These are lovely pictures, but why are we seeing them? Does George have a movie to promote?

The George Clooney of 5 years ago still wouldn't have publicly admitted he was married this far out from the wedding, and this new one is publishing pictures in tabloids.

George's expression and pose in the mens' photo immediately brought that old "my hed iz pastede on yay" thing to my mind. Made me giggle.

He's got a cameo on Downton Abbey. Alrightie... I thought that was just some charity thing and not actually part of the real show...

Probably because the hype seemed to fizzle quickly. It felt like the wedding was talked about for one wk at the most. I guess he figured his wedding would be like Prince William's, with the talk lasting 2 or 3 mths. I seriously doubt he thought that his wedding would get Royal Wedding attention. He's been around a long time, he knows the celebrity marketplace, and big celebrity wedding usually get no more than a week or two of real coverage, unless the stars in question whore themselves out like Kim and Kanye. Julia Roberts, Justin Timberlake, Brad and Angelina, all got the covers of the gossip rags and tabs for a week, the fashion press gives them a tongue bath in their next issue, and that's what they got. And upthread people were saying Amal's wedding dress was being worn as a Halloween costume, so I doubt George has any complaints publicity-wise. Any attention beyond that usially means the public doesn't like you, like in any wedding involving a Kardashian, or the Justin Timberlake homeless thing. Heir to the British throne wedding as in another world. No one expected a mere movie star would pull that off. I bet he's happy with how it all turned out. He got tons of attention, he got to make himself seem like an intellectual humanitarian, and no one (mainstream) made fun of him. And all the attitude about the aging pretty boy squiring around slightly upscale versions of Playboy Bunnies has died off. He's upped his brand. ETA GoldenFleece is right. He's not on the show proper.

George's expression and pose in the mens' photo immediately brought that old "my hed iz pastede on yay" thing to my mind. I was just about to post this! The other day I saw Mr. Clooney's and Rande Garber's faces plastered on the side of a liquor delivery truck. Apparently they were shilling for some brand of liquor. (I don't remember which one.)
