There was nothing, nothing! It felt like an inferior Originals, with an added 'cop' who looked and acted about 17, and the usual misogynistic crap. They didn't even try to redeem it with a shirtless Sam scene. It didn't advance the plot in the slightest, and it didn't feel like a SPN ep at all. This was one of the worst eps in the history of the show. Bloodlines looks awful. Way to wedge Sam & Dean in there for 10 minutes. Chicago monster mafia? GTFO.

Well that was quite an improvement from last week's debacle. Loved Papa Bear Crowley.

I liked this one too. It sucks that I was surprised by my enjoyment. Crowley as a dad was a nice twist.

I thought it really dragged. But then, I didn't see Bloodlines, so I didn't have the truly awful to compare it too. (When folks are saying Bloodlines is worse than Man's Best Friend- I'm keeping my distance!)
Still, even with the dragginess of the beginning, I like the call backs to Crowley's son (Why were Sam and Dean surprised he had a son? Didn't Bobby mention it? OY! C'mon Show!) But I like that with humanity coursing through Crowley's veins he actually has a little fatherly affection tucked in there. Gavin was a whiner though. And why the big honking urgency on Gavin's part to go back home, get on the boat so he could journey to the Colonies? You're in the Colonies, Dumbass! See, Crowley must have lots of humanity pumping through his veins- because I had no patience for the kid.
I did love Sam and Dean tag teaming up on the nerd boy angel hostage. I love when the brothers work together. Of course that got ruined when Sam realized Dean once again withheld information from him. SIGH! Didn't Dean repeat Poughkeepsie out loud the first time Crowley mentioned it though? Wouldn't Sam instantly pick up on that. Or am I wrong and he didn't say it.
I do dig Dark!Dean though. Can we keep him? And can Sam and Castiel drink some Dark!Potion and join him? For evilness, hotness and shirtlessness? Why not wind this sucker up on a high note next season. All Dark! All the time!! YAY!
Nah, that'll never happen. But I liked the close up on the blade when Dean was trying to Jedi it into his hand. It really is a cool prop!
All that said, I was a little sad Abaddon had to bite it so quickly. I don't reckon I'll miss her as much as I'll miss her potential. They had such a great baddie on their hands and they wasted her. The previouslies were almost longer than the show because they've been dragging so much I guess they assumed everyone forgot about Abaddon and her plotline... Well, in all honesty, that is a fair assumption. She's done big buckets of nothing all season. Such a waste!
Ah well, since Sam didn't chuck the blade out the window- I reckon we'll still have our Dark!Dean next episode. Yay? (I don't trust them not to blow it somehow)

I like darkDean too. Why does Sam get to brood all the time? I've actually never quite understood Padalecki getting top billing... I mean, I get it, he's the brother with all the angst who was trying to get out of the family business & we should feel bad for him all the time... But Ackles does a lot more, imo. At least throw them on the same screen. Clearly the actors don't care.

You lucky devil! It was so bad, it made Bugs, Bitten and MBFWB look like masterworks.
I still don't get why they didn't gank Crowley when they had the chance.

Pardon the double post... But this latest episode was fairly kickass! I wasn't fond of what they did to Tessa- But Dark!Dean is hot and a joy (well to the viewing audience... not to anyone who winds up on the wrong side of his blade). Is Gadriel dead? I couldn't tell. He didn't flare out the way they usually do- but he did seem to be leaking an awful lot of grace there.
I'm so done with Boogertron, though. Can he die soon? And can Dean realize what Sam was going through when he was chugging the demon blood and feeling stronger and more powerful? And can Sam now realize how terrifying it was for Dean to watch him spin out of control, mad with power? And can they just make up and be ok with each other for the rest of the series with no more angsty angst? And can they kill off Boogertron, set everything right with the angels and never deal with them again? And then can they take possibly graceless but now wise to the ways of the world Castiel under their wings (heh) all live happily together in the MoL bunker and hunt urban legend inspired baddies from now on? And can they funnel funds from the wardrobe budget into the music budget so they can have some kickass tunes and less clothing?
They're not going to have Bloodlines now. They can focus all their energies on making SPN something worth watching again- at least for one more season.

Finale tonight? I've heard whispers of spoilers, but as I'm not invested like I used to be, I don't care.
