Last night was dull. Charlie is an okay character, but I wasn't feeling her last night. Even Dean beating the shit out of her didn't really move me.

really hit over the head repeatedly the parallel of evil!charlie/good!charlie and demon!dean/not-demon!dean and finding a balance.
I was distracted by the idea of entirely-good!dean being the amazingly clueless yuppie that is Dean Smith.

Yeah- how does being 'good' equal no beer, no girls and no fun while chowing down on egg white and kale smoothies? The writers have a really lame concept of good and bad. If anything, 'Dark' Charlie more paralleled Soulless Sam in that she played rough and dirty but got the job done without a pesky conscience to hold her back.
The whole Mark of Cain right now just seems like another way for Dean to mope around and feel bad about himself. So, nothing new whatsoever. Just more angst but with a pink thingy on his forearm instead of a handprint on his shoulder (like he had when he was moping about torturing people in Hell) Mope, mope, yawn!

Why the hell didn't Good!Charlie just take a sleeping pill? Oh yeah, we wouldn't have been hit over the head with anvils/Charlie displaying her superiority.

This one was surprisingly Old School and therefore kinda good! A decent case. Person in Peril (even though she couldn't act, her situation was compelling at least) Dean scoping out the ladies and eating everything in sight. Sam geeking out and hacking codes. Death by Death Metal (that was a new one!). Pop Culture references to I Know What You Did Last Summer, Lawn Mower Man and Christine. And Winchesters tag teaming to save the day.
No Angel Politics and minimal Angst. Good times!

Yes I liked it. I felt like I was finally watching a Supernatural episode, not The Boring Angel Show.
The schadefreude from the destiers about Dean's checking out chicks and not talking to Cas was icing on the cake.

I managed to gain control over the remote on my lunch break today (a rare occasion! I'm usually stuck watching Sports, FOXNews(vomit!) or Price is Right depending on who got to the remote before me) But anyway, as Queen of the Lunch Remote for a day I flipped around and found an GOOD Old SPN epy The French Mistake!! YAY!!
I hadn't watched that episode in a long time so I had forgotten how enjoyable it was (and damn but I miss Balthezar!) But I can't remember if I never noticed this the first time, or if I just forgot about it until now, but when Dean and Sam go to 'Jared's' house and realize he married Fake Ruby, right next to their wedding picture, they have a picture of the Alpaca! BWAH HA HA!! It's such a perfect touch!
When SPN was good, it could be very very good. Now sadly, even at its best it's just 'Meh!'. Then after the Alpaca Picture reveal, 'Gen' tells 'Jared' he's been playing Sam Winchester for TOO long! True dat, Sister! Except, back then, it wasn't all that long. Now? Oh good googly! When will it ever END!
I haven't even bothered watching the past two current episodes. Last week... well it came on the same time as Empire, so DUH that was a no brainer. This week? I just couldn't muster up the interest. I read descriptions of the episodes after the fact and neither looked like I missed anything. I will say, in the one from last week, I saw a still of Dean standing over Cole? (I think) in a chair and there was some piece of paper sticking out of Dean's back pocket. I don't know why it caught my attention, but I figured it had some importance to the episode that I was not bothering to watch.
Now, after having just re-watched the French Mistake and seeing the size of the scripts they were flipping through... I think it was Jensen's script sticking out of his pocket! LOL!! Kinda sad that I took more interest in a random piece of paper in a still shot than I did in wanting to watch the actual episode. (And yeah, I totally noticed that piece of paper because it was sticking out of his back pocket... and I was looking at his butt... Don't judge me!!!)
But yeah, good times when the show was still good. I've seen the previews for next week's episode and without spoiling anything it MIGHT be worth watching. I'm not counting on it to be good or make sense. But it might be worth watching. (Well, since Empire isn't on right now)

This week was boring as all hell. It just felt rehashed: same script, different setting (oh look, a church!).

Egads that was dull! Sam and Dean had about 10 minutes of screen time combined, the plot was so boring I can't even remember it, and Crowley's mother needs to die now.
And to think people complained about S6! Even the worst S6 episode is better than any S10 episode. Not that I wish people out of work, but I really think the CW should pull the plug ASAP.

There is nothing left to mine. Nothing. They had a great run, longer than they probably should have, but it's gotta end at some point. All the superfans can keep them afloat with global cons for the rest of their lives. I don't even remember why Crowley's mom is around & I don't care. Ditto the mark of Cain. I would think even the actors are on autopilot at this point. "Jensen, then you get all growly." "Jared, let's grow out your hair a bit longer for this half of the season." Go out with a bang already (one or both die facing apocalypse head-on like Angel). Or they just drive off into the sunset. But *something.*
