Unpopular opinion, but I love Rowena. It's not unpopular with me. Rowena's the best new character in ages.

Season Premiere is tonight. I probably won't watch until later in the week, but I am curious as to how they'll handle that Darkness that swallowed the boys up in the Impala last time. In the meantime- Misha Collins released a Director's Cut of the Behind the Scenes Mockmentary he made last year. The first version was hilarious, but this one has Mark Sheppard!!!! I'm not sure why his scenes were cut before, but here they are restored and wonderful! (Jensen with the little dog at the end is the best, tho.)

They'll probably turn on a big fan to blow the darkness away. Then it'll be back to boring angel politics episodes interspersed with backdoor pilots.

I haven't seen it yet, but the giant fan really does seem like the best course of action! Huge missed opportunity there! Though newmanium's declaration that the episode was actually 'good' is encouraging!!

Maybe it's because the last few seasons have been sucky, but I was entertained by last night's episode. My beloved Crowley has survived!

Ok, yeah, that was pretty good! Truthfully, my standards of expectation are pretty low for SPN at this point. But it had a nice, almost old school feel where I actually cared about the extra background characters... As opposed to what had been going on before where the extras would be pulled into the foreground and take over the episode with some blah blah backstory no one could give a crap about to the point that it almost made no sense for Sam and Dean to even be there at all.
Now it's back to the Winchesters front and center and the extras giving them someone to hunt and or save and blah blah backstories are kept to a minimum of: 'Hey I know you from church, take care of my orphaned baby please. Pardon me, while I croak and lets hear more of what Sam and Dean think on all of this.'
I'm really hoping that Sam's declaration that they need to change their ways and stop doing the same things over and over again was coming directly from a conversation they had in the writers' room. Because SERIOUSLY! Do better, y'all!!
So hopefully Sam was speaking for the writers there. I know Cop Lady was speaking for the fans when she shouted 'Let's see some SKIN!' at the boys. Yes please!!
But I loved Crowley's situation and how devilishly he handled himself. Plus the mention of
Michael and Lucifer's cage and 'something' happening with that. Please let Lucifer out! Please please please!
I'm not as happy about Castiel's situation and really I'm sorry to say it's not because I fear him suffering so much as I fear more Angel Politics will be afoot. Which would cause ME suffering!
But Dean and Lady Darkness are sure to bring some hotness into the mix. Plus Baby!CainMark!! WHEEEE!!! What'll she get up to?

Bonus: The Destiel shippers on IMDB were butthurt over Dean's lack of concern for Cas/Dean's undeniable chemistry with Lady!Darkness.

I don't keep up with the rumblings of the Destiel shippers, but I imagine they're extra butthurt now that Cas had some HoYay moments last episode... and not with Dean!
I've been liking the season so far. Sure they're repeating tropes they've used before. But they're revisiting the things that actually worked in the past instead of wallowing in angel politics or introducing new characters and making it all about them in hopes of a spin off. Angel politics apparently are still afoot- they just aren't making the whole focus on them.
But Sam was useful. He built his own taser! Good for him! And I LOL'ed when he pulled his hair away from the fire. Yes, the world is on the brink of chaos once more. But don't lose those locks! Priorities!!
Crowley is perfection! And even though they're no longer on the same side, I still love Dean and Crowley's buddy moments.
I like that the BigBad and its/her motives are vague so far (Souls are yummy!) instead of overly complicated, which has been what's dragged the action down before.
I'm not saying it's great, but it's not painfully boring or stupid like it's been in the past few years. So, I'm having fun watching for now :-).

I hope so. When Hannah was kneeling at Cas's feet, I half expected the bom-chicka-wah-wah music to start up.
Yes, it was a surprisingly decent episode. It was nice seeing Sam using his brain again. I guess the stupid pills he took on the Charlie episodes wore off.
Crowley, as usual, is a delight. Father Crowley saying, "Dean was a scrumptious altar boy" made the episode.
