He also seems kind of dorky in real life, despite portraying two of the "coolest" characters in movie history. He's just kind of goofy.
Maybe someday he'll pull a Joel Gray on all of us.

I can't hate on him either, his life makes me sad too. I hope that one day he is just able to live his life without having hide who he is.

I remember George Takei before he came out... so solemn and serious, trying to find a way to fit into the Star Trek mold. Now he's just a big ball of happy naughty fun. How much more could we possible get from John Travolta, if he would just own his geekiness and potentially fluid sexual orientation?

If it weren't for the Scientology, he'd be the most beloved guy ever. That's probably why I find him so vexing. He's always seemed like a good hearted guy with a fantastic sense of humor about himself whom got hooked in to a scam that preyed on his worst insecurities. Plus his monologue on SNL in 1994 is stil one of my favorites. Not letting his son be treated properly was abhorrent and even if he does ditch Xenu, it would be very hard to forgive him for that. Hearing him tee off on Miscavige would be epic, though.

I think he'd have SO much support if he came out as gay and left Scientology. Maybe he'd get elected POTUS.

As much as I give just about every Scieno a hard side eye, I also just can't with Travolta. I think he is deep down a good person and is stuck between a rock and a hard place. I just feel really sad for him and want him to be happy. Hopefully someday he can be.

I don't know, guys. I want to believe he's nice, but he also has a history of sexually harassing massage professionals. He might have a scandal downfall yet.

He's in a tough position. At this point in his life, after losing his son and being faced with the prospect of losing contact with his other children if he goes against the cult, he pretty much has to do what he has to do. I'm not saying it's right, but on some level I can understand. I think he and all the other celeb clams were prepped on what to say about the documentary. The language used in Scientology is oh so dramatic. It would be a crime to approach something from a different perspective. A CRIME! I say!! Helping people through tough times is done best with technology. Technology! I say!!

Well other celebs educated themselves on the abuse and extricated themselves from the cult. Travolta staying means his kids will have no options either - they are being raised in the cult.
So Travolta stays hidden in his closet and buries his hand in the sand. At this point his sexuality is the worst kept secret in Hollywood. So if he leaves what's the worst they could do - leak his auditing files revealing the truth about his marriage? That would reflect just as badly on them. Travolta or Cruise leaving and speaking out would do huge harm to the Sci's because they are so high profile. At this point both are complicit in the abuse by staying. I really have zero sympathy for either, they are benefitting from the slave labour and abuse of other Sci members.
