"For this week's challenge, all of the designers will make one dress. Not one dress per designer. One dress. To be worn by me, Heidi Klum, at the Emmy Awards. Yes, it's the Team Challenge, with a twist. You also will be given different materials, with different shades of yellow, to combine to create one dress. You have 15 minutes. Go!" - Heidi Klum's Emmy Dress

One thing project runway is terrible about -- it gets pretty obvious at this point in the season when there are interviews about the "current" episode that happen during the finals. For example, Laurie's and Lindsey's hair looks totally different in some interviews. Top chef is really bad about that too, which has made me more aware when interviews happen after they've made the finals.
I will totally need to delete this post if one of them gets eliminated tonight!
ETA: And of course her hair started looking the same toward the end of the episode, so I still stand by my hypothesis!

Does anyone else giggle when Heidi explains the rules for the judging? "And of course we have Tim Gunn. Because he is your mentor, he will not be judging your looks...."
I always snort and think - "Oh, he's judging the hell out of those looks, he just doesn't get to vote!"

Whoops, Ashley really crashed this week. If you can't execute the design you want, you at least have to make sure you execute whatever you come up with as flawlessly as possible.

I can't believe who they kicked off! One was a dress, that although unattractive, was actual clothing and could be worn in public without lady bits falling out all over the place.
The other was only clothing in the abstract sense. It looked like the dust bin after Mood sweeps their floors for the night and all the scraps end up together. Worst look ever in the history of the show!
I was hoping for a Tim Gunn save. There aren't many people left, when is he going to use that?

I think out of who is left, he would only use it on Ashley, Edmund, Swapnil or Candice. I think Laurie and Kelley will leave without a peep from him.

I will bet he uses it on Ashley. She seems to be the most inconsistent, but considered talented. Plus, it would fit with her "self-confidence" arc.

The contestants this season have the least vision, sewing ability and craftsmanship I have ever seen on PR. Why couldn't Ashley get that cute jacket manufactured? But besides that, enough of 1988 Deli Kelly, Swapnil and his "elegant modern woman", and most especially, insane, attention-deficient, weird, Merlene! That red hat is now showing actual dents and wear and tear since she NEVER takes the dang thing off even under high stress. And if she's 32, I'm 23. Why does she choose to look like your grandma in 1982? Hey Heidi, she actually does NOT know how to sew and has no taste. That "daring" you see is accidental. True for everyone. Everyone else make excuse after excuse every week. They should have gotten rid of FOUR, FIVE OR SIX of the contestants and end this miserable season already. (Yeah I know I'm still watching...ashamed)

I'm still entertained, but I have no idea about fashion. I wear the nice dress shirt and the apparently very untrendy cargo shorts as my Hip Bar Look.
Ashley's was adorable. Edmund was, I guess, classic if not "CLASSIC". Merlene was possibly 23 in 1982. Swapnil seems to have talent, and seems to not be aware he's on a competition that might (probably not) help his career.
I was surprised we didn't get the Tim Gunn Save, since I can't remember ever seeing the judges that wildly divided on each outfit.
I also can't figure out if Edmund or Ashley is getting the Winner's Edit. They both have Reality TV convincing back stories, and they both have talent for this (again, says the guy who wears Izod and Cargo.)

The Just Fab judge clearly had the final say in judging since her company was reproducing and selling the outfit but I wonder how the judging would have played out if she wasn't there? Would the same look win?
