I'm officially a nerd. Gillian Anderson tweeted this picture and I just squealed in delight. She's Scully red again, y'all! As I was waiting for it to load I was all, "ooh ooh ooh. Let it be red!!" *also.a nerd*

When they announced it was coming back I went and dug my " Barbie and Ken as Mulder and Scully" special edition dolls out of storage and put them on my mantle. I don't know what class of nerd that puts me into. Pretty nerdy, I'm sure.

So I read that they're doing a sequel of Home. I don't know if they can pull that off though, I mean that episode was so disturbing partially because it was a one off, and also because the humor/gross out factor. Also the humor and horror aspect was really played up by Sheriff Andy Taylor, and his deputy Barney, and they didn't make it out alive (sniff...poor Sheriff Taylor and his wife).
IMO, There are some one-offs that should remain one offs--like when they turned the creepy morgue/serial killer into a demon in subsequent episodes? They made him less scary (though every time that actor turns up anywhere I'm like "He's the bad guy, run!") by making him not human.

It looks like they are still where we left them at the end of the last movie - Scully actually has a J.O.B. and Mulder sits at home pinning crap to his office walls.
I am still ridiculously excited.

Ugh. I confess, I just cannot get into the idea of a reboot. At all. Mainly because I feel its only purpose is as a vehicle for Duchovny's other project/whatever Anderson is doing it for ($$$?). But also because as much as I used to love it, I can't think of a series less likely to succeed in reboot format.
Not going to watch. It should have been left in the television graveyard (where it belongs.)

I'm really excited. I think because these characters were such a huge part of my life and for so long, they almost seemed real. Seeing "what they're up to now" just cements that idea in my little delusional head. Heh.

I think (hope) it can work because it's just six episodes. I guess I've watched enough short series like The Killing and The Fall to think that format would do well here. So much time has passed since we last saw Mulder and Scully that what's happened to them in the interim could energize the show in a new way. Sure, it could suck, but I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt. I'm crazy excited.

With them and CGM, it has to be flashbacks or an episode set in the past. Next we'll hear Krycek is coming back.
