She sure looks downright gleeful in those pics after the story broke. She probably assembled that high end outfit for hours, with her sources/friends weighing in on the best combo for her casual chic effect. She is smiling hella big.
Ben, you are sooooo dumb. So dumb, I would almost feel sorry for you, if not for your years of Bad Life Choices.

Has anyone seen these photos of her going into his hotel a couple of weeks ago that keep being talked about?
I agree that it's obviously not Jennifer's fault for hiring a hot nanny, but there's also no way I'd be hiring young female nannies if I was married to Ben Affleck. They'd be grandmas or men. Obviously he'd still go off and cheat elsewhere, but at least it wouldn't be in my own home, with the woman who was looking after my children.

I can see this argument, but they have had other young women in the home with no problems. I think the other blame here clearly goes onto the nanny. None of the young aspiring actress types I've hired (or I assume Jen has hired) have put out any sort of flirty vibes with my husband because, uh, yeah, that's uncool and gross and unprofessional. I can only assume that she put out something that Ben was receptive to (or vice versa), and from there, things spiraled. So that speaks to the character of the nanny, again, not Jen's hiring practices. Another example/side note: I recently referred one of our favorite (young, aspiring actress type) sitters to a high profile family (this is LA, remember, it's kind of normal). The dad is very famous and very attractive. Never in my wildest dreams would I EVER think this sitter would try to sleep with him. EVER. Nor do I think the dad would try to bang her. Because...that's just not what morally-sound people do. So while I lay nearly all of the blame at Ben's feet, certainly Christine whatever-her-name-is shoulders some of the responsibility of the mess. 99% (okay, let's say realistically 90%) of these young women would never do this. Ben is a self-destructive guy. He just blew things to shit. I cannot imagine he is happy right now...in fact, I'm guessing this has pushed him deeper into his self-loathing. It's actually pretty sad. No one can pull him out of that - not his wife, not some stupid nanny. Just him.

The "she hired a hot nanny" argument irritates me so much. To being with, it mitigates the blame. This was HIS doing. Further, you either have a husband who will screw the nanny or you don't. Exactly. Lainey has her little list of celebs she has weird fixations on and will always--ALWAYS--find ways to turn around situation where they are at fault/stupid/vindictive. Enough with that. Women make up 50% of the world's population. Many of them are attractive women. No woman should be expected to keep the female population at bay so her husband won't be tempted.

I'm with Matilda. Ben sleeping with the nanny is in no way Jennifer's fault, nor do I think Jennifer set a trap for him.
However I do find it inexplicable that Jennifer would hire a hot nanny when her husband is a cheater with no impulse control.

I find it inexplicable that she married and had three children with a cheater with no impulse control.

I find it inexplicable that she married and had three children with a cheater with no impulse control. She probably thought she could be the one to change him.

At the age their daughters are, I can see why a young, energetic nanny was hired. Some kids respond to the matronly type, some want the younger ones that are more playful.
I'm more surprised Ben was around the house enough to actually meet the nanny.

Well, I guess this could be the answer to my "but what was the dealbreaker?" question from upthread. No heroin, (that we know of) just the nanny.

I don't think she was the dealbreaker. If we are to believe this week's Bennifer 2.0 Divorce Update, the nanny was with them in the Bahamas when they announced the divorce. I doubt she'd be there if Jennifer already knew. If they've had an affair, which I'm starting to doubt, it was just a tiny piece of icing on the cake, not the reason for the divorce.
