She's supposed to be getting married to Arun Nayar at some point but I'm not sure his divorce has even been finalised yet. She has a pre-emptive marital status.

I think the Dark Horizons thing is not quite on the level. I don't think she would call herself a "wife" when she isn't one or that she would talk about accepting a part in a movie when she hasn't been offered one. On the other hand, she does say some stupid things (at least she is slim and toned!) so... Opinion is still out.
FWIW, if her part as Lestrange is as small as Julie Christie's Madame Rosmerta or Dawn French's Fat Lady in the Paintng, her acting won't be a problem. She isn't the greatest actress but she looks good and probably wouldn't ruin the movie.

Bellatrix in the books IIRC comes across as someone whose beauty has been destroyed by insanity, someone whose loveliness has been destroyed from within. I'm not sure Liz is up to that. She plays glam naughty very well (beginning of Bedazzled), but not evil (end of Bedazzled).

Shouldn't the quotation marks be around the word "actress" rather than "Austin Powers"?

You know, if you can't handle the artistic intricacies of fully portraying a character in Bedazzled perhaps it's time to stop calling yourself an actress.

I think she is a better actress than she gets credit for being. Not that she is amazing or always capable of delivering a good performance every time (the whole Bedazzled remake SUCKED and she sucked right along with it), but she was quite good in The Weight of Water (playing a ho in a bikini, but still...) and held her own against Sean Penn, Catherine McCormack and Josh Lucas. I think in the right part with the right director, she is capable of delivering a good performance.

You know who would be great as Bellatrix Lestrange is Anjelica Huston.
Liz Hurley has just never registered with me as much of anything except Hugh Grant's SO, whom he cheated on with a ten cent hooker. She doesn't have any je ne sais quoi, so to speak. She can be pretty, at certain angles, but hardly a knockout beauty, IMO.

OMG! Anjelica would be fantastic. She's regal and sort of beautiful - kind of like Medusa. Classic beauty with eyes that can turn you to stone. She'd nail the part of Bellatrix.
