Very briefly. Ashton and Brittany's relationship was over and done in about 7 minutes of screen time. I don't even think they showed Eminem - just her doing an interview about 8 mile. You actually didn't miss much at all. I'm disappointed. The movie isn't very informative re: her life. It sort of glosses over stuff. Meanwhile, it has no camp or LOL moments either, IMO. It's rather bland. Okay, don't guess I will go back and watch the beginning then. That's kind of disappointing, I thought her fling/relationship/whatever with Eminem would be interesting to cover. I remember it was rumored that their sex scene in the factory or whatever in 8 Mile was real, and they just seemed like such a strange pair. I agree the movie was pretty boring.

I watched the first hour or so. It was incredibly choppy. A bunch of stuff that happened with no flow to it and no real exploration why any of it was important. Why even mention the 8 mile movie without going into some of the rumors around it? And apparently her and Ashton broke up because he came to be bed late one night.
I also kept getting confused about which actress was playing her. I thought the blonde friend was her in a couple of scenes. There was also some random brunette character on screen for about five minutes. I thought that was supposed to be Brittany when she had the dark short hair. I still have no idea if that was supposed to be her or another character. That might be because the movie was losing my interest.
From now on, Im only tuning in to lifetime movies with Heather Graham.

Yeah, I love my old trashy 90s Lifetime movies (Betty Broderick and the one where mean cheerleader Tori Spelling gets knocked off!), and this one sucked. The actress playing Brittany looked like one of the Teen Moms (Kailyn!), and had zero charisma or resemblance. TORI could have played her better (heh, with Dean as Simon).

I think they'd occasionally cross the line from cute to annoying, but that was mostly Ashton's fault. He's always one-half of an annoying couple. It's how he rolls.
Yeah, that was pretty dumb. Ashton and Brittany are having too!much!fun!! playing with french fries and being obnoxious and giggling and then a few hours later Ashton's like "we don't have fun anymore."
The closest it came was when Sharon and Brittany were in the hospital after Brittany had a fainting spell (or whatever it actually was). Sharon was like "they said it was hypoglycemia and anemia, you know, those heavy periods you get" and Brittany's like "it's not my heart condition?" Hint! Hint! People. Brittany did NOT have an eating disorder or a drug problem. Also, Sharon was a well-grounded caring mom who only wanted the best for her daughter and never interfered with her career or had much of anything to do with the various pills Brittany would take. Got that people?! But wait, at the very end we read that Brittany and Simon might have been poisoned, which implies Sharon was a murderer.....so.....she wasn't the ordinary mom presented to us from beginning to end?? Okay then, movie. I guess you can call that a twist.
I'm also disappointed that Eminem wasn't featured, even if only for a few minutes. I don't think Girl, Interrupted or King of the Hill were mentioned at all were they? Girl, Interrupted was an amazing role for Brittany and King of the Hill was one of the few positives in her life. It was a consistent and good-paying job that she enjoyed.
Anyone know if that Clueless scene had any basis in fact? Was Alicia Silverstone really a snobby bitch who would turn up her nose and walk away when Brittany was speaking? I find that hard to believe.

The 90's was the best time for lifetime movies. Tracy Gold was is so many it seemed she had a new one every week. Yeah, they all were a bit cheesie but cheesie in a good way. I loved watching them on Sundays. I haven't watched a good lifetime movie in a long time.

<------ I've gotta give some love to my fave, The Betty Broderick story. I know some people prefer the first, but I love them both, preferably in a back to back marathon. While eating ice cream. Which is what I did last week. Meredith Baxter should have won the Lifetime equivalent of an Oscar for that role. You feel sympathy for Betty, but you can also see that she is completely fucking crazy. The Anna Nicole movie was on again the other night and it's terrible. Bleh. The 90s movies are the best. I wish they would do an all day marathon of the Amy Fisher movies. It's been ages since I've seen those.

Being at home has caused me to check out a lot of old Lifetime favorites. In fact, other than Death of A Cheerleader/A Friend to Die For (1994) (which would have kicked the last one off the Top 10), I was able to compile a Youtube list of my all-time favorite Lifetime movies for anyone wishing to take a walk down 90s Memory Lane. I just realized that half were made in 1996 - a particularly good year for this type of movie. Here they are, in no particular order: - A Woman Scorned: The Betty Broderick Story (1992)Meredith Baxter Birney / Steven Collins (Really, really bad divorce) - Mother May I Sleep With Danger (1996)Tori Spelling / Ivan Sergei (Craziest boyfriend ever) - Sweet Dreams (1996)Tiffany Amber Thiessen / A Martinez (Amnesiac searches for answers) - Sweet Temptation (1996)Beverly D'Angelo / Rob Estes / Jenny Lewis (Girl loses innocence to the wrong dude) - A Face to Die For (1996)Yasmin Bleeth / Robin Givens / James Wilder (Plastic surgery leads to revenge) - Sin and Redemption (1994)Cynthia Gibb / Richard Grieco (Woman has child conceived in rape) - Lady Killer (1995)Judith Light / Jack Wagner / Tracey Gold (An affair turns dangerous) - Face of Evil (1996)Tracey Gold (Grifter psycho wreaks havoc) - She Fought Alone (1995)Tiffani Amber Thiessen / Brian Austin Green (Rape victim becomes a small town pariah) - Friends Til The End (1997)Shannen Doherty / Jennifer Blanc (Jealousy, bad music, and murder on campus)

Oh dear lord I must not start watching because I’ve fallen down enough tv related rabbits holes in lockdown but I feel resistance might be futile....
Already clicked on A Face to Die For.
Someone save me from myself, please!
