My memory is fuzzy but a couple of years ago SMG mentioned on a talk show that she got a black eye (I think) after Freddie thrashed around as he slept. At the time some people wondered if Freddie hit her. Maybe Smidge was retaliatiing. Okay, I'm joking about her retaliating, but at the time SMG's story sounded really strange.

I think he looks Italian, if anything.

If IMDB's bio is to be believed, his dad was half hungarian, half Puerto Rican.
Fortunately, I don't pay any attention to him nor the missus, but I liked his dad's comedy when I was a child.

I was just coming here to post that! He's 1/4 Puerto Rican, 1/4 Hungarian and 1/2 Italian.

Thanks, Guin and Snowberry. When I told my friend I thought FPJ looked Italian, she laughed. But he does! On to this lastest story... What some people will do to drum up publicity.

To be fair, though, he's the son of a famous Latino comedien and shares his name. I think he can (pretty safely) assume that everyone knows about his Hispanic heritage.

Except me. Freddie Prinze Sr. was before my time, and he's not all that famous. I'd never heard of him except via Jr. And "Prinze" isn't a name I'd heard either, so I didn't know the ethnic origin.

Isn't his real last name Pruetzel or Pruetzler or something? Freddie is just famewhoring it out to get ratings for his new show.

Freddie Prinze Sr. may have been before your time but whe Jr first came on the scene the magazines, even those aimed at you youngsters, made a big deal about it. And when your dad is know for being Chico, I think one could probably figure that one's Hispanicness is reasonably well known.
Maybe he is playing it up now, I don't know and I don't really care. I'm just being chartable and suggesting an alternate reason for why he hasn't mentioned his Latino heritage much in the past.
