I don't know what happened but it is clear all three of issues. Yes, all three. It's clear that Kate and Oliver (well mostly Oliver) are clearly holding on to a lot of pain, anger, and resentment. Otherwise he would not have felt the need to post what he did. He would have just did a nice Father's Day diddy for / to Kurt Russell. Kate, whatever she may be feeling, kept it private and just paid tribute to Kurt Russell. What about Oliver's career? What's he done?

He's a series regular on Nashville and has a leading role on Scream Queens.

Oliver was also on Rules of Engagement, which ran for 7 seasons (100 episodes). He's really funny in it.

Someone please send this dude that Cher "snap out of it!" gif from Moonstruck. I can't with adults marching towards middle age who still wave their mommy and daddy issue flag. This just wreaks of attention grab. Oliver has a job on tv. He's not a big bang tv star and he's definitely not a movie stah and he's most definitely not a household name, but today he and kate's name are all over the place for their dad's disownment rant in response to his catch 22 instagram post. Tacky all way around.

I think that both Oliver and Kate (although as it has been pointed out, Kate said nothing in this instance) have the right to say/write whatever they would like about their biological father, and we, as consumers of popular culture, have the right to read it or ignore it.
It would be wonderful if issues from childhood could be universally resolved by middle age.

Rolling my eyes so hard they're about to fall out: Oh, yes, let's blame social media for this. Oliver thought no one of his 166K followers would pay attention to what was clearly a call for attention. So over these celebs (using the word loosely for OH) acting like they have no clue as to how Instagram/Twitter/FB/etc work. link
