You know, much as I don't care for Megan, she does represent a very important element of CA at the time. LA, San Fran, and London were the center of the fashion / cultural universe. NY was not even on the map. She is a full on California girl, and the only character to represent that on the show.

Yes, he really is good at it. Ha. Love the song in the trailer. Damn, I love the 70s - bring it on, Mad Men! The way he inhabits that character is just a work of art. His facial expression in his bit in that clip just cracks me up. Tom and Lorenzo said he deserves an Emmy for letting them do that to his hair. Quotedy.quote.quote.quote.... Disappointed no one is rockin a Mr Brady type perm

I really wish AMC was doing a marathon of the series leading up to tomorrow. They do it all the time with The Walking Dead. I guess they know which show is the butter.
I just hope we have some happy endings. Realistic, and this will certainly be bittersweet, but I do hope these people eventually find happiness.
And bring back Sal!!!!

Pretty sure I am watching a Mad Men Marathon right now. Megan just kicked Don back to New York...

Fingers crossed that Megan gets very little air time during these last 7 episodes. Please be Don-Pete-Peggy heavy with strong doses of Roger and Joan.

This very long break between seasons was too much. I'm looking forward to the conclusion of the series from a storytelling POV, but watching bits of the marathon today, I kept thinking, "oh yeah, that...and that..." Too much lag. Hmph.

They showed all of S6 and the first half of S7 today, and they've run 2-4 episodes on Sunday mornings for a while...except when The Walking Dead is having a premiere or finale, then AMC turns into The Walking Dead Network 24/7, the weekend leading up to the new episode. I guess AMC realizes that Godfather marathons or 1990s/2000s action movies will get more of an audience than years-old MM reruns.

I'm looking forward to the conclusion of the series from a storytelling POV, but watching bits of the marathon today, I kept thinking, "oh yeah, that...and that..." Too much lag. Hmph. This is exactly my issue with MM. I remember binge watching to get to the then current season of MM a few years ago and when that season was finished it took so long for the next one to start, I had a hard time remembering everything that had happened. I stopped around season 5 or something. I don't even remember. I'll finish the show at some point, but I'll have to go back a few seasons to rev my memory. It just feels like a lot of work and major time commitment at this point. Things were a lot easier when most shows started in September and ended in May or whatever it was. I guess this means I should be doing shots of Metamucil when I'm not too busy waving my cane.

It's difficult to un-imprint television watching habits, and I don't really blame you. Another thing I haven't especially adjusted to with New, Deep Television is the rewards from re-watching and the intense investment. I really appreciate that the art of television is rising in artful estimation, but it's not really my preference to watch and re-watch to make sure I get the callbacks and the thematic elements.
Anyway, this episode made my entire weekend.

Downer of a first episode. I don't think we are going to see bright and shiny endings for many of these characters.
So Don got his mojo back, except now he's lost what I would argue are the two women he's loved the most - Anna and Rachel.
The blood-red wine stain on the carpet was creepy. I can't help but wonder if Weiner is having some fun with all the "Megan is Sharon Tate" conspiracy theories.
I can't even with Roger's 'stache.
