I know you meant that snarkily, but "porno chic" is just two years away in MM world- Deep Throat, Behind the Green Door, etc. Megan's still got wealthy parents to fall back on, but I could totally see her on the fringes of that world via her struggling actor friends, or hanging out at the Playboy Mansion West.

And to go real world for a moment...there are a LOT worse places they could be absorbed by than McCann. But they don't know that of course. ;-) IKR? I wasnt following the drama a lot because I kept on thinking it was a good move! Because of the corporate focus this episode, Im really gearing up for some heartrending final eps. Martini Girl: I can't believe its over on May 17th. you said it

As someone who was laid off in a major way, I was totally all "Why are they complaining??" I of course empathized though, esp. with the women.

What the ever loving f*ck Matthew Weiner. I hate you. At this rate, only Betty and Megan will get happy endings.

In spite of what happened to Joan, I thought this was a great episode with some classic moments, including the final shot of Don driving off...to David Bowie! So freakin' cool.
Loved Peggy and Roger's "final skate," and really loved Peggy's entrance into her new office, complete with pervy octopus painting handed down from Bert Cooper. Peggy is a rock star who will adapt and grow stronger. I'm not worried about her at all.
Don's future is still very much up in the air.

Loved the bits with Joan and Peggy. Don continues to be completely irrelevant. This storyline has been repeated so many times and it hasn't been interesting in years.
I still think they are setting Peggy up to come up with the "Tastes Great. Less Filling." tag line.
Pissed that Joan just got squeezed out. I can only hope we'll see a series finale of Joan, Peggy, and Pete starting up another agency though I doubt we'll be that lucky.

Don tapping the drafty window...a tease or some foreshadowing? Does everyone at McCann need a throat-punch? I hope Joan sees some success in the corporate world somewhere, I'd hate to see her just settle down as a housewife with Mr. Whats-his-Pike. Roger may be a skuzz-bucket but his ex-secretary was right, he does bring the laughs. Taking the piss out of Harry was gold.

So Don went hobo, looking for Debbie Downer, like I thought he would. He really needs to listen to Ghost Burt and forget her. Sounds like he's not the only dude she's sucked into her vortex.
I don't know what Peggy skating around was about, but I liked it. I hope she hangs the tentacle porn right behind her desk so people have to sit there and stare at it whenever they have a meeting with her. The douchebags at McCann deserve it. I want to see Peggy sitting there silently daring them to say something.
It sucks that Joan got squeezed out, but she needed to go for her own good. I too hope she finds a job at a place that will appreciate her.

I like that Peggy and Roger got to say goodbye to the office alone, as the last hangers on. Without Sterling Cooper, neither one would have ever gotten a start or had much of a future in life. And there's always been a weird kind of respect there. Don may have given Peggy her first opportunity, but Peggy's first office was from Roger. ("I'm impressed; there are thirty men out there who didn't have the balls to ask me.")
I am livid for Joan. More livid that she caved on the whole lawsuit plan (because I think that would have worked.) But I can see why she wouldn't want to do the slash-and-burn thing with her former coworkers staying behind.
I totally want Don to just disappear out in the Midwest. Illinois is where he started out originally, I think, before Pennsylvania, so I could see his storyline ending there.
I really hope Pete is put on an ice float next, although that guy is (if nothing else) scrappy. He'll probably live. Damnit.
