Ok, now we're into magical false equivalency land because Eddie is a heterosexual man who has displayed evidence of being interested in intercoursing women. Moz, on the other hand has identified as asexual and homosexual over the years, and even as a very young chonies, writing in her diary and playing with black Wet and Wild lipstick, it was utterly evident that that wasn't going to happen.
So, real talk: what if Eddie Vedder had looked like Shane MacGowan?

If Eddie looked like Shane, I would not bang him like a screen door. I'd give a hug and strong cup of coffee. I'm that shallow and make no apologies for my fast ways! 😜
I agree though, that the way I structured my response made it look like I was comparing Eddie and Morrissey, so I made two paragraphs. It wasn't really my intent at all. I was just all, I hate Morrissey, and then hey! Look! Eddie!
I don't necessarily want to bang Bono, but I'm very attracted to his whole image, etc.
I really, really needed this shallow convo! Thank you, Greecies!

Rattle and Hum era Bono? Like a screen door in a hurricane. Yup!

I was very young when I first saw the "With or Without You" video, and dark and brooding Bono did things to me. I forever love Bono! I think that's an unpopular opinion, too. Chonies, I liked reading your take on why you dislike Pearl Jam. I don't personally put Stone Temple Pilots in with PJ, but only because Scott Weiland was a good singer. Eddie just growls on everything. I want my singers to sing, damnit!

And I have been consistent in my opinion! And, uh, having a Bono problem is not an unpopular idea with me. Go team!

I love Pearl Jam. I graduated in 1992, so it's like I have to love them. I looooove Eddie Vedder, too. LOVE. As such, I follow both on FB, etc. Today, the PJ FB page posted a picture along with a lyric from the song Black, from the Ten album. I hate that song! I think it's awful! Ugh, everything about it annoys me! But then I read the comments and so many folks have such heartfelt associations with it, I almost feel guilty for thinking it's shite. Man, that's hilarious because I feel exactly the same way. I really loved Ten but that song is like nails on a freakin blackboard. Pearl Jam has a lot of "love it or hate it" material for me - the stuff of theirs I like, I really like, but there are definitely some other songs where I fully understand the hate. The thing about Eddie Vedder and "authenticity" is interesting because as the 90s progressed, I seem to recall he caught some stick for being a "poseur," mainly for not being as much of a ~suffering artist as Kurt Cobain.

I can't stand Lorde. Since she was on SNL last night I thought I'd listen to her and give her a chance, but I had to mute it halfway through the first song. She's pretentious as hell, her lyrics are stupid, and I hate her monotone delivery.
