Congrats to Keri!
Not sure about the name River though. Was she trying to name him after River Phoenix? People will be asking that for the rest of his life.

I'm not a fan of the name. River Deary sounds kind of twee, and River Russell is very similar to Kate Hudson's son's name (Ryder Russell).

I thought the same thing about Ryder Russell. The thing is though- on tests and other things file-wise (Dr's office, etc) this boy is going to have to hear....Dreary, River. Dreary River. As in, "I went rafting on a dreary river on a cold mountain day......"

I know! I said in the Celebrity Baby thread that it sounds like a melancholy country western song. It's a sad sounding name to me.

Don't mom's check things like initials and how the names will look when it's all said and done? Oy. But congrats to her, anyway. Glad to hear she's now a mommie.

It kind of scares me the way that baby is being carried in a sling.

I don't like it either. Looks like the poor thing is being smothered and smooshed.

She looks very happy, but I agree with the most of you here - I don't like the name or the way that baby is being carried in that sling. It looks like he could suffocate.

I don't see what the big issue is. You can see his little head poking out so it's obvious air is getting to him. I thought those slings were supposed to be ideal for carrying newborns. It keeps them swaddled up and close to the mom. Several of my friends have used similar sling/pouch thingys.
