I'm sorry, but I laughed. OUT. LOUD. at that! I hope nothing's hurt besides her ego, but it was like Spinal Tap 2 or something. It also felt representative of this whole cycle of promo. Mr. Tanyak is laughing with tears coming out of his eyes. People falling is his vice. I once fell on my back, and he started laughing so hard, he couldn't even ask me if I was ok. Lol

She should be more careful. At her age, she might break a hip.

You guys are missing the MAJOR aspect of this performance: Madonna wore PANTS! I guess the Brits deserve better than us vulgar Americans.

Someone up thread mentioned Madonna's cycle of promotion this time 'round. It's really grating. Her constant hashtagging of #rebelhearts, which doesn't really make any sense, is making me think of unfollowing. I know that Rebel Heart is the name of the album, but I don't like the title, or the dumb cover.

She's doing an interview with Howard Stern tomorrow. Their first interview together. He's moving his show from the morning to the afternoon to accommodate her.

I'm over her after her Instagram about her white kids being the two halves of her heart. Freudian slip.
Lately she's jumped on yet another bandwagon - women's rights. Guess what Madonna? The rest of us have been on that "bandwagon" for years! I've noticed most celebrity women only start complaining when they are no longer considered an object of desire. All entertainers (women and men) have an expiration date. Many men flame out too as they get older and lose their "hunk" status. It's a cruel profession. So they can either whine or better yet develop a wider skillset to prolong their career. Unfortunately Madonna tried that - didn't work out well. Directing and acting does require some amount of depth and training. And that's hard. Training and introspection takes time away from people looking and talking about her! And most importantly from her being able to look and talk about herself! Madonna's idea of women's rights begins and ends with her having the right to flash her ass, dress like a 20 year old and (this is the most important part) being talked about for doing so. Applauded, criticized, insulted or whatever! As long as people are talking about her!
Challenging the perception of societies idea of a woman over 50 woman is fantastic. However I fear that Madonna treats ageism and sexism like she treated Malawi - as a fad.

Possibly we've read one of the same interviews she gave recently, because I was feeling the same way. She actually repeated Patricia Arquette's line about how women are the last marginalized group, with fewer rights than ethnic minorities or gays. Every one of the examples she gave was related to her dealing with people judging her as an aging pop star. Thankfully, she didn't bring up trivial examples like living in an insidious rape culture. You know, the type of society where she would feel comfortable comparing having her computer hacked to being raped. Or where she's feel comfortable inviting a convicted rapist to guest duet with her on the album she's currently promoting.
