I wish there was some way to go back in time and show Blond Ambition era Madonna her future self. Blonde Ambition Madonna would verbally annihilate 2015 Madonna.

I don't get an "I don't care" vibe from her at all - I get the exact opposite, and it's desperate and clueless. I don't think she does whatever she wants but instead tries to do things for effect. I don't think she knows any more what she may want to do. And that's what is sad about her.

I have lots of different thoughts that don't necessarily coalesce into one coherent verdict on her. 1) She's STILL playing the role of drama/dance high school geek girl - I wanna be the center of attention ALL THE TIME! - this is pathetic. 2) She's about to get inducted into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame - that's impressive. 3) If she was a male pop/rock star who was assaulting other artists on stage with un-solicited kisses, would there be an outcry beyond "ew, that's gross! she's old!" It's kind of disturbing, even if she's equal opportunity on the sexes - it's all for effect, not because she digs them for reals or is awesome friends or really wants to screw them. 4) It feels like the promotion on this particular album isn't going so great so she really seems to be everywhere right now. 5) Her outfit and look screams "roller derby girl" meets Michael Jackson meets Salt n' Pepa meets '80s drag wannabe Madonna impersonator. 6) I'm not a fan of her genre of music in general but I remember when pop music used to be fun and seemed effortless. What the hell is going on with her? She could use a stripped-down Bruno Mars-esque/Mark Ronson back-to-basics course in pop music. If she cares, which I doubt she does - the music is beside the point for her. 7)I still want to know what happened between her and Gwyneth - two of the most heinous, narcissistic, egotistical snobs in the entertainment industry not being able to be cheek-kissing frenemies anymore would be the perfect "Real Housewives of We-Have-No-Idea-WTF-the-Rest-of-The-World-Does land" reality show.

I think this Drake thing is a big deal (for her image), for two reasons: It is really highlighting how much she is no longer an icon (people are laughing at her all over the place), and- it shows she is no longer a sex symbol. It is really hard for her image to still be passed off as super sexy when there is that gif of his close to vomit ridden face all over the place.
When I first saw it I actually thought he was crying at being kissed by someone he admired/was an icon for him. That he was crying because of being overwhelmed at his happy life. Yeah- not so much. If that narrative had played out it would be totally different. Now though, it highlights even more how far her image has fallen.

Madonna and Drake react to the reaction regarding Drake's reaction. This is the attitude of a reality star, not a pop icon. It wasn't the lips, it was the lipstick. This explanation is awesome! Apparently there is a lipstick on the market that makes men recoil in disgust. I'd say there should be a recall, but that's something that could actually come in handy sometimes.

If Madonna were still in her 20s or 30s or had Drake been legal in the 1990s, she would have been trying to do more than just kiss him.

I think it's cool that she doesn't care what age she is and does whatever she wants, and isn't content to just retire because she's a Woman Of A Certain Age. I don't think it's about retiring because you're of a certain age, however, the music business is very youth oriented. Frank Sinatra "retired" when he was only 56, but he still performed in public well after. I mean it's a "circle of life" thing. When you get older, shit changes, stuff that used to matter to you no longer does. Look at someone like Barbara Streisand. She has zero to prove, she still has fans, I'm sure people download her music. I think the problem with Madonna is that she never had a great voice to begin with. But when you're young and cute, nobody gives a shit (see Rihanna), now that she's older, it's more obvious.

Wow. I hadn't seen any pics of the kiss before. That's not a kiss; that's mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. And it looked damned unpleasant.

If Rihanna is still patting her kitty and singing about 'Birthday Cake' at 56, I will side eye the hell out of that, too. Unlike the Britney/Xtina kiss at the VMAs, this Drake thing looked like an ambush. It wasn't rehearsed and that looked like his natural reaction to being mouth smothered by surprise. If this had been a planned bit, it might've come off a little better. The grimace and mouth-wiping are embarrassing, any way you slice it.

His reaction seems so odd on his part. He's an actor besides a singer, why didn't he act like he liked it? Was he THAT surprised he was kissed? Is he the best chair sitter in the world or something? (Homage to his Degrassi days?)He was in a chair for the Anaconda video, why did Madonna use him for this? Looks like she's copying Nicki Minaj.
