His show Mad Men has its second season premiere tonight on AMC. He's a Golden Globe winner, an Emmy nominee, and an all out gorgeous guy. I'm surprised there's no thread for him. I guess it's up to me to start one!

And about time...
I am well and truly hooked on Mad Men, and JH is just yummy. However, his character, Don Draper, is such an enigmatic asshat! It's a testament to JH's acting that half the time I want to choke him and the other half I want to tie him up and do naughty things to him.

Is this show any good? I've heard bad things about it, like it's incredibly misogynist. I Googled him, though, and whoo boy! Hot.

Oh, yes yes yes! I just saw some bits of a trailer today with Jon Hamm, and I look forward to seeing him on the big screen.
His acting on Mad Men is a tour de force -- tragic, maddening, and smolderingly sexy.

The show depicts the late 50s/early 60s corporate world, and it shows how women (i.e., the secretaries, wives and mistresses) were treated back then. Sexism was of course rampant. That does not make the show misogynist because it portrays that.
I didn't really get hooked on the show until the marathon on AMC last week. And I wanted to like it because Jon Hamm is yummy and so is John Slattery.

Mmmm.... John Slattery. I've had an enormous crush on him since Homefront[/color]. What is it about Johns in period dramas?

Thanks, Ginger. I may have to give this show a try. I didn't realize John Slattery was in it. I looked at the cast list on imdb, and Vincent Kartheiser is in it, too?! I think I'm the only one who loved his character on Angel.

Just finished watching the first season today and am getting ready to see the new one in an hour. I love it so far and I agree, Jon Hamm is incredibly sexy. I had to go through my stack of EW issues because I then, remembered that he had been on the cover some time ago, but I never paid any attention to it because I had no clue who he was.
The show is indeed very mysoginistic and thus, very true to the era is portraying, like Ginger said. Love all the characters so far even though I'd like to slap them at times, Pete Campbell most often then others. For those who watched the show, I still can't believe that Peggy did not realize she was pregnant until she actually gave birth! Matt Weiner, the show's creator, said that she actually did know but was in denial, but I still don't buy that. A baby isn't just like depression or deep issues one has that you simply put off and don't think about them. I'm sure whenever she took a shower or dressed to go to work, she knew she was pregnant. I thought that explanation was too simple minded.

He is seriously The Sex. That said, I've heard from someone who knows him that he can be/is a douche, though I don't have any other details than that...so take it for what it's worth. I also always worried that the BI from a few months back - about a hugely critically acclaimed/awarded cable show on which two of the actors were having an affair (the male in the affair had a long-term g-friend, I think) - was about him.
But who knows? He could be nicer than Santa Claus. And to me, he's still The Sex.

I saw this article in Parade Magazine today. I'm almost tempted to start watching Mad Men.
