I think Jessica Alba poses a real threat to Matha's empire, unlike those other two clowns.
If anything is keeping Martha up at night it's two Jessicas. Alba and Simpson.

Awesome. And, this is the MO of the Gawker chain! When people send these dumb cease and desist notices, this is the post they typically make. Any research into the chain, and you would know that. Also, why should they remove the post? Unlike entertainment news sites, they don't give a shit if Blake Lively gives interviews to them in the future and they have no major affiliates. There is nothing at stake for them other than traffic. And, you know, they are right. There's no reason for them to take it down. Not to mention if every site or even news outlet would have to take down their critical posts, before some hard facts could be presented, hardly anything worthy of note would be left. And Blake, darling, they're all responding to what is posted on your site. They were not the ones calling it the Allure of the Antebellum.

Well...this just keeps getting better and better. Not only tone deaf and stupid, but...plagiarized as well.

I can't believe the line they chose to plagiarize is the stupid hummingbird one. Preserve's hummingbird isn't simply enjoying the pastoral bloom. Oh no, that's too pedestrian. Preserve's hummingbird is relishing the pastoral bloom.

Wow, we've got a trifecta of hot mess here- racist, plagarized blather. This is starting to remind me of the Shia Lebeouf mess.

Well, if there's one good to digital media, I guess celebs are revealed as tone-deaf no-nothings they are. Really, she could have written all that about the south and NOT added in the antebellum part and it would have been fine (unoriginal, but fine). As someone who's mother is from Alabama, I don't understand (well, I do, it's just extra terrible in light of reality) the nostalgia for the myth of the old south.
I'm guessing she doesn't realize that most southern belles were turning a blind eye while husbands/fathers/menfolk were raping the slaves or she wouldn't be quite so enthralled of them.
ETA: I want to clarify that I don't think all or even most southern women turned a blind eye to the sexual abuse of slaves, because it's not like they had much autonomy either.

Yeah I really don't get southerners who talk about the good ole days, etc. Like what was good about it? If anything it is shameful and should not be celebrated (looking at you confederate flag waving assholes).
