Yeah he is a controlling asshole. There was a blind revealed to be them where she was out on a lunch date with a friend and she was furiously texting him getting his approval on what to eat. Really now? I remember reading that. How ridiculously sad. I can't imagine living that way.

I feel bad for Ryan Reynolds. Why? At the very least, he picked her, as Judge Judy would say. I fully believe he didn't like the fact that Scarlett's star eclipsed his, so in that sense, Blake is the perfect wife and partner for him. She'll never outshine him professionally. Even if Gossip Girl were still running and popular? Someone on another message board called Ryan and Blake out for being both C-list. That wouldn't have occurred to me about him but it makes sense. Gossip Girl was never as popular as its own hype. It was a teen show and probably should have ended long before it did. Ryan's biggest successes are behind him. They are C-list.

He always seemed like a major douchebag. If anything I feel bad for her. She's young and in all honesty she's not exactly firing on all cylinders when it comes to intellect. The perfect Stepford wife for him.

Yeah I really don't get southerners who talk about the good ole days, etc. Like what was good about it? If anything it is shameful and should not be celebrated (looking at you confederate flag waving assholes). I'm from Alabama (and live there now) and most of the people you see who fly the confederate flag are ignorant assholes. Mostly super redneck. Although I had a engineer neighbor several doors down who had a small confederate flag on his garage but his front door was covered with angry all-caps signs for the postman and UPS guy telling them ONLY to leave packages at THE SIDE DOOR!!! So, not redneck but crazy. It all comes down to ignorance. I think Blake's just kinda dumb/undereducated and is unqualified to try to put together the sophisticated editorial and fashion spreads that she's trying to do. Whoever is advising her is also unqualified. Clearly. Anyone with half a brain would have nixed that direction. Here's a nice example of Southerns making fun of themselves: Sh%t Southern Women Say. Maybe Blake's next Southern-themed feature can be called "Cute as shit" or "Gussied up!"

Well...this just keeps getting better and better. Not only tone deaf and stupid, but...plagiarized as well. Hee! All I'd like to say to her is, "Whoops!" And a little, "My, my, my! What have we here!?" I'd love to see what her attorneys have to say to Gawker's discovery and response. And about Ryan's controlling ways? Stop trying to kill my top 3 Canadian Boyfriends list! *sob*

Sometimes I wonder if this is all an elaborate plot Gwyneth set up just to give GOOP more credibility. She's come out of this looking almost down to earth and self-aware in comparison to Blake's dumbassery.

Gwyneth has had her own tone-deaf race issues in the past though. Remember her "kitchen" rant when she wrote some "essay" about her hair? Or the time she dropped the n-word (people were trying to figure out if she was saying the name of the song or actually calling Kanye and Jay-Z that) at a concert in Paris?
I guess the difference here comes down to Paltrow trying to suck up to her new cool friends Bey and Jay and ending up demonstrating her ignorance. Meanwhile, Blake fails to realize that she is implying that she's nostalgic for the era where southern women planned parties while the slaves made it happen like the magic house elves in Harry Potter.

Not that it makes her any less of a dimwit, but I wonder if she even wrote the "article" (is that what you call it?), much less read it? I knew someone who used to work for Paula Deen's magazine and he would write her monthly letter for the magazine, she just signed off on it. She had no input whatsoever. I assumed that's how most of these celebrity publications work. Not that it excuses it, you are atill responsible for what is published under your name.

"Blake Livey" is credited as the stylist, but no one is credited as writer. I'm guessing some intern "wrote" it... a.k.a. cut and pasted the copy from that one magazine then went wild with Word's thesaurus option.

Not to be all "But honestly, Monica" about it, but at least somebody at Preserve had the sense not to steal the grammar errors. Ye gads, the original piece is some bad, bad writing. David Cross must be punking Blake again.
