Since I can't wrap my mind around how someone can administer the beating he did to Rihanna and not feel the least bit of remorse, I wonder how much of it is denial or fear or bluster. How can anyone (especially at 19) be that much of a cold-hearted bastard?

He's probably still in the "I'm invincible" stage kids/teens go through. I'm sure his youth + his celebrity = nothing but a slap on the wrist (in his mind of course). I'm hoping he'll be punished to the full extent of the law and wipe that smug look off his face.

Someone needs to seriously kick his ass. As Steve Harvey was saying, a man who beats a woman can never tell a story of beating up a man, because they never fight anyone that can defend themselves. Hopefully he ticks off the wrong person and gets his ass handed to him.

A little bit OT: I am reading that the "Seinfeld" stars will appear on "Curb Your Enthusiasm" this coming season. Link here. I am in the Midwest, and never been to Hollywood, never come into any serious contact with celebrities, so this probably comes from naivete: I honestly, truly thought no one would EVER give Michael Richards work, ever ever again, after his comedy club racist hate speech. And although it's nice to see OJ never ever ever work in a celebritory fashion again (before or after his current jail time), I have little hope that Chris Brown will suffer any serious consequences for what he did. It almost sickens me. It does disgust me.

It baffles me. It's not like he's Prince, or Sean Combs. He's hot right now: BFD. He's not a producer. He's not a songwriter. He doesn't have a stable of proteges; he IS a protege. If this hadn't happened, by this time next year he might have been old news anyway. So why is anyone trying to save his career?

If this hadn't happened, by this time next year he might have been old news anyway. So why is anyone trying to save his career? There's 6 million reasons why people are trying to save his career. That's how many albums Brown has sold, worldwide. And he's only released two albums to date, and he hadn't exactly peaked. In this day and age of declining sales, anyone who can shift those numbers in a relatively short space of time, is incredibly valuable to the bottom line of the music industry. Brown is an international star. He doesn't just sell albums in America like many of his contemporaries. It's not easy to create acts with international appeal. He sells in Europe, Australia ect. A lot of time, effort and money went into creating the "Chris Brown Brand", and a lot of people will fight to save it. A lot of people rely on the continued careers of "stars" like Brown, to earn their own livings. Dancers, Record executives, Video directors, managers, touring staff, session bands, producers, writers ect. The downfall of one star as successful as Brown, can have a domino effect in terms of employment/financial opportunities for others. He's a cash cow. People want to keep cash cows alive. Brown was in no danger of being forgotten next year. The guy was in a serious postion to challenge for being the biggest male solo artist on the planet. Usher was falling off and getting a bit old, and Justin Timberlake is becoming a bit passe. Chris was really in the prime position to take it to the next level, with the whole dancer/singer act. Plus, being in a relationship with Rihanna only made him more glamrous and appealing as a "star". I think the feeling with Brown is that they can "re-Brand" him. Okay, so the whole "sweet boy next door, nice guy" thing will no longer fly. But thugs can sell records as well. Everyone knows Brown is a violent ass-hole now, but ironically, it may make him seem more edgy. His career may be over. But in this day and age, I wouldn't write him off completely. Give him some thug songs and hook him up with a few crotch grabbing gangsta rappers, and you might just see Chris Brown develop a whole new fanbase. I think that's why the little shit is so cocky (smiling, jet sking ect). He's got a whole bunch of people around him telling that this shit will die down, and that all it'll take is a little "re-branding" to keep the cash cow ticking along. I don't think Brown believes his career is over at all.

It's not like he had to audition for a guest spot on CYE. They are his friends and colleagues and I guarantee the rant will be referred to (comically) on the show. He has an opportunity to make fun of himself. What MR did was wrong, but he didn't get arrested for it. He didn't send anyone to the hospital. He actually admitted he was an ass and was totally in the wrong. I don't think he'll ever be as well-liked as before, but he apologized and disappeared for awhile. He didn't throw it in everyone's face like CB is doing.

I had a whole post with my thoughts but it brought up OJ also which is not a good idea. I'm just disgusted.

Edit: This article was also posted in Rihanna's thread: The alleged other woman is revealed...and it's his manager! Supposedly they started kicking it when Chris Brown was 16...I wonder if any laws were broken.

The police are in possession of the text message, as it's the catalyst to the whole incident. If Brown was smart (which he apparently isn't) he'd plea this mess instead of letting it go to court, because once that happens the text message because evidence and the whole world gets to see it... She could be in big trouble if it was proved she started in on him while he was 16 (Miley Cyrus: "It's still a felony!").
