I'm a bit confused by all this "See! Gaga can actually sing!" narrative I've been reading in various media outlets.
I don't remember people (or at least a loud contingent of people) ever saying Gaga can't sing. At worst, I'd say people say the spectacle of her persona has overshadowed her vocal ability, but I don't think the general public ever labeled her as a poor vocalist. All these headlines just seem disingenuous at best and an outright lie at worst.

I wish she would step off of the platform shoes. They just look so inelegant to me.

At worst, I'd say people say the spectacle of her persona has overshadowed her vocal ability, but I don't think the general public ever labeled her as a poor vocalist. Agreed. There's never been a dispute about her skill as a musician. It was just buried under all the gimmicks.

I didn't watch the Super Bowl, so I didn't see her performance then, but I just caught it on Facebook this morning. She was great. She seemed to put a lot of genuine emotion into the song.

Preparing for her Bowie tribute with a kinda unoriginal, not great tattoo.

Preparing for her Bowie tribute with a kinda unoriginal, not great tattoo. Flea got a Bowie tattoo a couple of weeks ago, which I didn't mind. This feels less like a tribute to Bowie and more like making his death about herself and using it for attention. Also, back in 2010 her people were behind a "leaked" list of credits on her then-forthcoming album which listed Bowie as a co-producer, guitarist and singer on the album. Bowie denied it. In fact they'd never met.

I get that she's a massive fan of his (I am as well), but yeah this is all just "look at me" bullshit. Her team claimed that leak about Bowie producing her record was an internet hoax but I was doubtful then and I remain doubtful now. I loved the way his camp shut that shit down.

I can never understand the need for people to get their idols' faces permanently stained on their skin instead of just wearing a t-shirt with the idol on it.

I can never understand the need for people to get their idols' faces permanently stained on their skin instead of just wearing a t-shirt with the idol on it. I don't have a problem with tattoos, really. I just have enough trouble deciding what I want to order in a restaurant, and I can't imagine having to pick an image that I would want to have permanently added to my body. I love my paisley bed spread, but I know I'm going to want something else in a few months, so I got a duvet cover.
