Interesting thoughts, chonies, I was just going to add that my barely graduated from high school nephews got all smart and stuff about quantum mechanics based on a one hour video that only covered the basis that the observation of a particle caused the particle to change its action. They also know the term "string theory." Not what it means, just the term. That is the sum total of their knowledge base on quantum theory. But boy can they spend hours and months talking about quantum theory!
I also had in interesting conversation with a prof friend about the popularity of The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich when it was first published. I'd read the three part autobiography by its author (William Shirer) about 15 years ago, and was wading into the massive tome. I could not imagine how so many had plowed through that book, I mean, EVERYONE seemed to have bought a copy of Rise and Fall when it was first published. My friend said that while everyone seems to have bought it and carried it around, no one really read it.
Maybe the kids are teen-splaing, a variation of mansplaining. They have a few general principles, a great big book to tote around, and just enough terminology to think they have all the answers (and can't WAIT to explain it to you. Not apple pie anyone? It will be ready in 6 seconds, on in a year. It's all the same.)

Teen splaining sounds perfect. It's earnest and they mean it and it's often tedious and they don't know how they sound but they know how they want to sound.

I just discovered Will Smith is portraying Dr Bennet Omalu in an upcoming movie. This casting looks really off.

I was disappointed when I first heard about it, but I figure Will Smith is probably the main reason the film is being made and will be widely distributed. For that reason, I'm okay with it because I saw the film on Frontline last year and want everyone to know just what a despicable rat bastard Roger Goodell is.

I watched the Frontline movie over the weekend and it was definitely the most disturbing documentary I'd seen in a while, so I agree with you. I think Luke Wilson can deliver a good Goodell.

I always find it humorous when actors claim they don't care about the box office of their films but still demand 10 million dollar paychecks.
His new film looks awful. Is it a romance, thriller, comedy, action? Every ad is all over the place.

I've died a thousand deaths every time I go back to read my high school diaries, and Thinking Deep Metaphysical Thoughts is a phase many people go through. OT: but have you ever listened to Grownups Read Things They Wrote as Kids? It makes me feel less bad about all the truly awful stuff I wrote (and thought) when I was a kid.

Oh God Bless him. When I first started reading the quote, I assumed JADEN was the speaker. Yikes. I'm not quite sure why Will is so late in coming to this revelation. I mean, if Wild Wild West didn't kill him nothing will!
