Swerve is used to rudely ask people to get out of the way or you can use it to say you're about to move in a direction/go to the bathroom/leave. The use is about the same as the actual legit dictionary definition. Sometimes people (older people) also use it to mean swagger/getting your drunk on, but... ehhh. It's mostly a request to move.
Example: "Here comes Sheila. Gurl better swerve when I walk by."
I assumed when I read the tweet or whatever it was that he was referring to the feeling of free-balling in skirt, and how different it is when you suddenly move in a direction.
When I was in college, in certain groups, it was briefly in style for guys to wear skirts and dresses. I went to a liberal hippy college. It sounds like that look is back and having a tiny moment, and Jayden was up for trying it out. No biggie. It's just a skirt. I see he has been rocking the baggy pants + skirt look too, which also was a thing in my college years briefly...

Re: swerve, really? I heard it used as in, "I look good tonight--we're going out to get my swerve on." As in, find someone to take home from the bar/club/party. I wonder when it changed.
Hmm...that changes the meaning of the statement, although it still makes sense. I guess he's going through that phase where he's daring people to call him out on it.

I'm not sure what the big deal is about him wearing a skirt. I go to cons and I see guys in those skirts all the time. Jaden isn't original or thought-provoking to be quite honest.

Yeah, that's what it used to mean to me, too. But lately I have noticed it in song lyrics being used as a "move!" or "guuuuurl, keep on walkin' by" thing.

But isn't that kind of the point? I don't go to cons and I don't see this on the college campus where I work (although it was more common when I was in college), so it seems unusual, and unfortunately I don't know if there's a reliable data set on male-identified people who wear dresses or skirts in the day-to-day and/or for costuming purposes. A lot of the internet has reacted with "ew, spoiled child of the über rich being pretentious" and the other segment is saying, "son, have a seat, this is nothing new." So, is it worthy of commentary or not? If it is, why? If he's not original, is it healthy emulation or a tired copycat?
ETA: this isn't meant toward Greecie posters. I'm caught in a philosophical loop about media and gaze, and questions about norms and mores, etc. Why is Jaden such a magnet for the internet's curiosity? I don't follow him, so I only hear about him here or in occasional other media streams, so I don't know if he's courting attention or if it just follows him.

I knew Willem Dafoe in high school. Guess who wore a skirt to classes at Appleton East in 1972? The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Hah. Yeah, I'm sure he is. Teens and young adults love to define and express themselves through clothing in ways adults don't really GAF about. At least this is a pretty harmless cry for attention...

Smith children to me are like Kardashians... generally worthy of scorn.
