Yeah, I liked Stefan with whatsherface, too. Caroline should go to The Originals and get Klaus all conflicted.

I wonder how long Caroline is on maternity leave with the season almost wrapped up? I think that she's in episode 20 again, so next week. I’m spoilering all of the rest of this because I don’t know what might be a tip off on a storyline and don’t want to irritate anyone. Casting and next season newsKat Graham (Bonnie) has signed on for the 8th season. She confirmed it awhile back, but after that she’s done with the show. Ditto Ian Somerhalder (Damon), who said that his role on the show will change a bit. I’m thinking that he’s going to be in less episodes and will be directing the show more. I applaud that decision – Damon in smaller doses is good for the show. Had both he and Elena been in smaller doses I think the show would have been better. There could have been more focus on the side characters that way. I actually like both Elena and Damon, but no one wants to watch an ensemble show that centers on only two people. Blah.
I don’t blame Kat Graham one bit for bailing. This season is the only one that has given her character a real arc, and thank God that Michael Malarkey (Enzo) can act because they are saving the show. Paul Wesley (Stefan), Zach Roerig (Matt), Candice Accola (Caroline) and Michael Malarkey have signed on for season 8 too. I don’t know about Matthew Davis (Ric) yet.
I also sincerely hope that they do not do yet another blasted love triangle in season 8 as is rumored – this time featuring Bonnie, Damon and Enzo. Damon and Bonnie have a relationship in the books so apparently, this is a big point of contention amongst the fandom. Leave my precious Bonnie and Enzo alone, show! They have enough angst without yet another crappy plot device being thrown into the mix. I want to see them happy, damnit! They both deserve it given how shitty their lives have been. Also, Enzo is way hotter than Damon to me so I get to stare at him more if he and Bonnie are together. Ha.
I’m assuming that season 8 will be the finale for the showrunners as Julie Plec (creator) has said that once Somerhalder and Wesley are done so is the show. Somerhalder is done, but I don’t know if Wesley is since maybe he wants to be near his girlfriend who also shoots in Atlanta (she’s Hailey on The Originals). He could potentially go over to The Originals along with anyone else who is not done with the production (and living in Atlanta). I don’t know who else would go to The Originals though because a lot of the cast has family outside of Atlanta and other entertainment aspirations.
Kat Graham and Candice Accola are singers and may want to concentrate on that aspect of their entertainment careers plus Candice just had a kid with her husband and Kat Graham is engaged to someone that may not live in Atlanta. Michael Malarkey is a musician and his wife is a successful TV actress in the UK (with a baby) so he may not want to continue to be in Atlanta.
Honestly, as long as none of them die (permanently) in the 8th season, they could always do guest arcs on The Originals. I would love that actually. Nina Dobrev has said that she will return to the Vampire Diaries to help wrap it up whenever that is. The return of Katherine would be ever so welcome in addition to Elena waking up and being allowed to be happy. More of the side characters will likely come through season 8 in a nod to the show’s history. That would be pretty cool way to end the show, I think. Storyline speculation for the remainder of Season 7We get to see Bonnie and Enzo fall in love in flashbacks (finally!) this week, but she gets very ill by next week's episode. Enzo is falling apart from the fear of losing her and his culpability in it so Damon tries to help and makes it worse in next week’s episode. Either Enzo or Damon or both of them guide Bonnie through her death in that way where they can take people to a place in their mind that is soothing so that the end isn’t so bad. Jesus, my eyes watered a little at writing that. I don’t want Bonnie to die yet again, it’s just too much.
Anyway, then one of two things happens: 1. Bonnie dies and comes back as a Huntress. 2. Bonnie dies and comes back as a heretic who lets out whatever is in the basement (possibly Enzo’s monstrous father). Regardless of whatever happens to Bonnie, Mystic Falls burns to the ground. The remaining episodes sound sweet, sad and packed with action, and I’m actually excited to see them even if it means the end of my beautiful, sweet ship. ETA: I just realized why Bonnie and Enzo's reunion scene affected me so much. It reminded me of a scene from Buffy the Vampire Slayer in season two where Buffy and Angel were so happy together. And that was the last time that they were that happy. I love me some angst in my TV shows, but I also like to see people blissfully happy. I just wish that we got to see more of the blissful part.

OMG. Okay, so I know that this hasn't aired in the USA yet, but it did in Canada and wherever it can be streamed. I'm just bursting to talk about my Bonenzo ship! I won't spoil it for anyone, but I will say that I squealed like a 13-year old girl for most of the episode. I'm such trash for Bonnie and Enzo. Hahaha. I really, really enjoyed the episode. If I could find a beating heart emoji, I'd put it here now. After the horrible news of Prince's death, I so needed this wonderful stuff.

That was some gorgeous stuff. They need their own show being all adorable and sexy. Enzo has always had potential, but to me they often made him too whiny and not really relevant enough. Now that he's with Bonnie, I like his character so much more. This is the Enzo we should have had all along.

Agreed on all counts, biondetta. Damn, these two are fab together. I really, really don't want a love triangle. Let Damon Salvatore wallow in his 'epic' pain. I just don't give a shit anymore. He's Elena's problem now. Leave Bon Bon alone to enjoy her Enzo! Speaking of Enzo...the man should teach a master class on how to seduce a woman. Lesson 1: After setting the stage with extra effort, tease her while you're close. I sighed here a lot.Lesson 2: No, really. Anticipation is your sexy friend. I think my mouth was hanging open at this point.Lesson 3: Slow sweet kisses that last for three days are awesome. But, so is the post-kiss nuzzle and breathlessness. More sighing from me.Lesson 4: Show her what she will be getting when she finally gives in. Look at what he is doing to her leg here. Seriously. I legit started to fan myself when I looked at what he was doing with his thumb on the lower part of the inside of her thigh. I'm blushing now just thinking about it. Who needs porn? Ha.In less sexy but fun news, I found this hilarious gif of Klaus trying to blend into Hailey's world. Hahahaha.

Dammit! Why can't they just let Bonnie and Enzo be happy at least?

I know. I was nearly in tears at Enzo trying not to cry when he was with Bonnie on the couch. I know that it's a CW show so it will never happen, but Michael Malarkey is pulling off a performance worthy of an Emmy nomination. He's just as good as Morgan and Gillies, and I don't say that lightly. Next week looks harsh to say the least though I am wondering how much of it is in Bonnie's dreams and how much actually happens. Snapping her lover's neck and marking her best friend? Oh, Bonnie, you poor dear. Speaking of harsh, damn what happened on The Originals! I loved the writing at the very end of Camille and Klaus' dream state. She was scared to die, and she wanted to be better than that. It was so normal and human and not heroic at all, and I absolutely loved it. And my God, but how much is Davina supposed to take? That poor child has been nothing but a sacrificial lamb to her ancestors, and now they want their revenge for her daring to want to have control of her destiny. Being a witch is the ultimate curse on these shows. I await next week's shows with great anticipation. ETA: Probably my favorite part of the TVD episode was the Bonnie and Enzo Beauty and the Beast reference. My all-time favorite Disney movie and one of my all-time favorite movies period. No wonder I love their story so much. If that's what Bonnie and Enzo's journey was truly patterned after, then bravo to the writers (and the actors). It is a beautiful homage to the classic story. Now don't you dare fuck it up. I demand that Bonnie and Enzo get their happily ever after before the show ends (presumably next year).
