I mean, would it kill the record companies to give the writers they ripoff, like, 0.000001% of the massive profits they make? In some way, yes it would. By giving the originators credit, it would be an admission that they are a.) not the creative geniuses they bill themselves as and b.) not worth the money they're being paid. They'd rather pay the guy who's clever enough to steal while towing the party line at the same time. The guys that aren't already in-pocket may make different demands, like not allowing the singer as much credit for changing a word or two.

I wouldn't be surprised if singers like Katy Perry and Rihanna received writing credit for contributing nothing besides showing up and singing (badly) into the mic, hanging out a bit, and then going home. Who would know? Assigning (often undeserved) writing credit is probably a standard part of record contracts in an effort to keep the talent happy and, more importantly, quiet about the behind the scenes shenanigans.

I'm not sure if "this Dr. Luke thing" is enough to lead to PTSD, but okay, if she says so. Regardless, it's seems odd that Kesha's mom can't seek therapy on her own. There might be a codependency thing going on there. If there is, I hope this rehab recognizes it and helps them work it out.

Seriously. Her mom has been shooting her mouth off in the press and talking about Ke$ha's bulimia (we know which ED it is not because of her, thanks lady). And she's been "setting the record straight" and saying weird shit like she wished it was a drinking problem (oh yeah, that would be so much better) and how Ke$ha hates pop music and this is how her daughter is and this is how she isn't. Like, stop talking. You are not your daughter's PR rep (at least, I don't think she is, hah).
Whatever is going on with her Mom it sounds like she needs to work on it. I hope she does, and that there's family counseling at this place and it's not just her being codependent or panicking that she's going to lose her daughter because she's stepping away from fame/professional commitments right now and getting help for her issues.

That's cool. They've been playing her music a lot on my top 40 station, so hopefully talking smack about that creepy producer she works with didn't kill her career. I know a lot of people hate her or her music, but she always seemed nice and her stuff was okay enough. It sounds like she wanted to move her sound in a different direction and they weren't letting her. So hopefully she doesn't get stuck in studio contract hell.

I will root for anyone who seems genuinely interested in becoming a healthier person. I don't like her music but best of luck to her.
